Jatco JR403E Automatic Transmission, won't move in drive. I select first and then slow and shutter in first on take off.

what car is this?, maker ,model and year
books for it are sold by that, so , none told?
generic answers now.
PRNDL, so :R, D and L" all fail./?
or just drive?
if RPM go super high and will not up-shift that is tranny failiure
if engine fails and say misfires, RPM do not go high and is engine failure(and EFI if is, but no car told at all, sadly)
NO RPM told at all , engine. we can not see you drive or see the tachometer needle.
in the blind.
first step is , to know if engine fails or the transmission.
it's not hard at all to do that, in seconds flat , eyes on tachometer
or hear the engine scream and car does not move.

Engine died while driving, no spark, replaced coil, now starts, idles, runs well at low rpm, but misfires when accelerating. No check engine costs thrown. What should I check next.

Change your ignition module. The distributor is a weak point of the Honda, I will always change out the whole thing than just try the coil.

Missing at mid speeds, tachometer and temperature quit registering

if motor stalls , did it?
if not stalled, you are losing DC power 12v to the PCM, or other EFI parts.
Im assuming you ment quit reg, at the misfire. and that the motor did not stall.

2004 escalade, tachometer only register between 0-1000 rpms. Idles at 0. ???

Your probably going to have to bring the car for service. When it is idling and reading 0 can you rev the engine? Does doing this change the tachometer reading or no? When you drive it is it only going to 1000 rpms maximum? If so, it seems that you aren't getting to the higher gears. Either way, if it continues, definitely bring it in for service.

Tachometer fails to work all of the time

You will need to remove the tach and have it repaired by a factory authorized service center, don't go through the dealer, they will 2X the price.
