If the remote is damaged the car might not start. If battery in remote is dead it also might not start. However, there should be a key fob slot somewhere inside the car ( usually around the driver side knee area or inside center console ). I never worked on a 2013 Accord so I don't know the exact location, but your Service Manual should show you exactly where it is located. From my experience with Nissan dead key fob has to be in slot for car to start. Lexus/Toyota you have to tap push button START/STOP couple times with the remote fob for it to start.
That is to show that the alarm system immobilisor is on. Shut everything off, close all the doors, windows etc. Lock the car. Then open the car using the remote handset or key and try to start the engine, if it still does not start , then you may have to take it to the dealer to check and reprogramme the system. BTW, did you disconnect the battery prior to this fault ? this would explain why the system is immobilised. Hope that helps
leave the ignition on for upto 30 minutes this will then over ride the immpb but change battery in remote much easier check with your local toyota dealer they will tell you the sequence
Install remote/key into socket. Push and hold trip button on instrument cluster with all doors shut. Push start button one time for key position one while holding trip button and count to five. keep holding trip button and hit start button to key position two where all the warning lites come on the instrument cluster while still holding trip button. Count to around ten and triangular warning lite should flash. Release button and remove key and then start engine. May take a few attempts to reset this lite.
if it was me i would go to a toyota dealer with my vin number and if you look on the door it will tell you what month the car was made also take paper to the car registraton to prove you are the owner and they will get you a key you may even have to have the car tow so call the dealer ship first because the new key has to be program to work with the car
