You should have two hot circuits to the relay. One is for the pump and the other is for the coil of the relay. Usually power comes from the key switch.

someone told you the door locks might open with 9v smoke detector battery.
id bet not but there is a 50-50% changes, but then again
the maker don't spec out the electromagnetic solenoid,current.
most 9v batteries, have very low current, but there are exceptions ...
why not tell us. just do it and tell.
it also depends on the lock part friction. now we have 3 variables.

when you go to buy the battery they will ask you year make and model and sell you the right battery wallmart kmart have a book you lookup year make and model yourself

Need to have correct, cold cranking amps (525 cca) or higher. Dimensions length x width x height the same or smaller is ok. Larger may not fit in tray or have clearance with hood. Then the fact its top post battery. The other numbers mean exact size for oe fit.

Hello, you are wantng to know if you have the right size battery for your vehicle. It sounds as if your battery may not have enough cold crank amps in it to support your vehicle, or either the battery you have has a bad cell. Your local auto supply store should be able to help determine if the battery is bad. It may also have just a surface charge and need to be charged on a trickle charger overnight or either there may be a parasitic draw on your battery beside the lights, but before going through a bunch of different test check your battery condition, then manufacturer specs, then battery cranking amps to manufacturer specs. I would say about a 800 cca battery at least.

there is no metal plate. You just have the VECI label on the driver door frame or door opening

Check battery voltage. if above 13.7 volts move to rear lock actuator and measure battery voltage at actuator if above 13.6
replace actuator if below specs. check grounds and alternator out put as follows, alternator output 13.7 to 14.25 volts. key off battery volts should be 12.90 + - 3/10 of a volt and about the same voltage at the actuator. let me know. kindest regards Bill

specs are usually at the car retail shop just specify what lancer you have if it is a 04 model then it should be a CH lancer

but the higher the cold cranking amps the better

this is the link for new key fobs and they have tech on hand to walk you threw coding the key fob
they sale to every one but mostly dealers and this has the better prices when you order then dealer does
all you need to do is call them give them the model numbers of old key fob and your vehicle specs and you can order new fob here

now with the battery drain hole its in the middle under the battery unfortunatley but easy fix find where all the water is congregating at say to one side get a drill and bit and drill small weep hole where the water is sitting at this will relieve the water
