SOURCE: how to replace a water pump on mercedes e320 1997

It is not complicated, depending on what hands-on level of DIY on car. Here are what need to do, so you can estimate how easy or hard when you look through your engine. Drain all the coolant, remove the thermostat housing, remove the fan, belt. Remove the water pump pulley. There are 4 bolts to hold the water pump in place. If you think you can take them out and put them in without removing the AC compressor then you can do it. I did it twice without removing the AC. The pump was fine for the second time, but for leaking seal. At dealer, it is easier to access from the bottom since they have a lifter. But it is doable at home. Have fun if you decide to do it.

SOURCE: what size or type tool use to remove cover of oil

no you don't have to remove the oil filter housing. Mercedes Benz has a tool that fits right over the oil filter cap that is inexpensive or you can just use a oil filter wrench. On the in-line 6 cylinder motor its a little harder to fit a filter wrench back there so a claw type filter wrench might be easier to use.The Mercedes filter tool can be found online also.

How do i change the air filter in my mercedes e-320 sedan?

Remove the air intake tubes on the left and right sides. Pull up the complete air filter housing off of the rubber mounts. Turn the air filter housing upside down and there will be 4 - T20 torx head screws on each sides. Unscrew these torx screws to gain access to the filter. Install new air filters and put housing back on in reverse order. Please remember to rate this solution. Thanks!

Check engine light is on

Replacing the engine fuel filter on a 2005 E320 CDI is one of the easiest things you might consider doing yourself. It's located near the front of the engine right on top. You have to remove the plastic covers over the engine manifolds, (also easily done but don't lose the bolts that hold it on). Once you do that you'll see it right in front of you. The replacement part from MB comes with everything you'll need - O-rings, gasket, etc. Once you have the filter installed you have to "bleed" the air out of the system. The filter unit has a bleed screw on top. Just loosen it and crank the engine until all the air is out of the system, then tighten again.
