Trouble Code: P0572

Brake Switch Signal No. 1 Circuit Low

Trouble Code Conditions:Ignition is on. When PCM recognizes that brake switch is mechanically stuck in the low/on position, a DTC will set. Three global good trips are necessary to turn off MIL.

Possible Causes:

* Brake switch signal circuit is shorted to ground
* BS No. 2 signal open
* Brake switch is damaged or has failed
* PCM has failed

i would check the brake switch first located under dash and when brake is pushed it hits switch turn ignition on and test the wires if all hot then switch is bad, other wise there is a short or bad pcm and these are not easy fixes requires knowledge of car wiring and diagnostic tools/computer

The easiest fix for a P0572 on a PT Cruiser is to replace the brake light switch. It's fairly easy to reach in order to remove the plug/connector, rotate the switch assembly off of the brake pedal hardware as it is keyed to be able to stay in place without any bolts or screws. Once removed, install a compatible replacement part. Mopar and aftermarket OEM replacements are $15-$30. Mopar Part # W0133-1675644-MPR Brake Light Switch $28 on Amazon as of May 2019

Have a 2002 chrysler pt crusier having running issues while driving

You probably need the egr valve changed or the passages beneath it cleaned of carbon deposits that are blocking up the passage of exhaust gas back into the engine. It's an important emission control device that reduces pollution by lowering combustion temperatures. When they get plugged up, it can cause stalling, so I would have it serviced.

How do you change a water pump on a 2004 pt crusier?

I'm not sure how mechanically inclined you but to do the water pump on that vehicle is labor intensive and if it is a turbo it is even more so the water pump is located behind the timing cover

06 pt crusier replaced both o2 sensor and still getting p0171 could it be issue with after market o2 sensor both are bosh

the fact that you replaced the sensor and the same code is there means the sensor is functioning ok, you have another problem, code readers just tell you what caused the mil light to go on, not the problem, for that you have to scan the engine on a reader and get readings from sensors and actuators, it could be a plug, vacuum leak egr malfunction, injector malfunctioon to name a few, do yourself a favor and get the engine analysed

Ingition fuse keeps blowing 2004 pt crusier

Too much combination of voltage/current. Fuses are to keep things from over-heating/catching fire. If you replace that fuse with a larger one, it won't blow as often, but it defeats the purpose of the original fuse, which is to limit your voltage/current.

hope it works

2004 pt crusier shifting down hard is it transmission

Sounds like you have more than one problem there. best bet might be to stop in at autozone, or Pep Boys for a free trouble code scan, just to see if anything comes up, then get back with results. As far as the AC goes, can you see or hear your AC compressor kicking in when on AC mode?
