SOURCE: Car shifts hard (up & down), especially shifting to reverse.

that delayed reaction may be the transmission slipping. with those many miles it could be the transmission going bad

SOURCE: where is the shift solenoid

Inside the transmission. Remove the fluid pan on the bottom of the transmissionand the filter and there will be the shift solenoid package. There will be three or four solenoids that are facing the engine. the two that are exactly alike are the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift solenoids.

Why is my 91 honda accord ex s light flashing?

This is a trans issue, and OBD scanners won't read these. Jump the 2 pin OBD connector and count the light flashes to get the code #. Then go online to find a list of codes for your Honda.

My accord stalls when put in reverce

Depending on the mileage of the car I would first try a product called Trans X sold at most auto parts stores. Sounds like the converter lock-up solenoid sticking due to varnish build-up. Trans X is good for freeing up sticking solenoids in high mileage transmissions.

My 1993 honda accord lx..4 cyl. 2.2 ltr auto transmission problem

It's the "shift" solenoid on your transmission has gone bad. Get it at the junk yard for around $80.00. You want the "shift" solenoid, not the "lock-up" one.You can see it on the front of your transaxle. It has a small electrical plug attached and comes off easily. Both solenoids may be together, or you may only have one. Easy fix, but depending on the doner car, your shift points may change (engine may seem racier)

I have a 2002 Honda Accord with Auto Trans. I

i would check the transaxle fluid first, if it is fine, I would then take it and change the fluid and filter. if this does not correct it, quite possibly the transaxle is faulty, sorry, I hope that the fluid corrects it for you, thanks

TRANNY ISSUES

If it is an auto trans. then the answer is yes. throttle control lever syncronize with the engine so both engine and trans work together.

Green "S" leads to other issues

This sounds like a failed or failing transmission control computer. I have been struggling with a 91 accord with similar symptoms for weeks. The computer often fails by way of a capacitor leaking, and I suspect this may occur as a result of faulty or stuck shift solenoid valves. There is no electrical protection betweeen the solenoids and computer. Disconnect the solenoid wiring harnesses, and check for a click when applying battery voltage to each pin (4 total in 2 connectors). You can also check for resistance at each of these pins. They are chassis gorunded, so attach the - side of your meter to a bolt on the trans. housing. Resistance should be 12-24 ohms on each solenoid. The speedo cutting out also suggests a failing vehicle speed sensor. Sometimes the connector for this sensor can melt or short. It is on the back side top of the trans. housing, roughly below the water neck. It can be removed by taking out 2 10mm bolts on either side of it. Finally, the shifter interlock solenoid in the shifter column can cause trouble. If there is a light rattling sound when going into drive, this is probably the cause. Do not repair or replace the trans. computer until after you have determined all of these items are in good order, or it may burn again. Also, beware reman computers in the aftermarket. They are often very shoddy. I suggest finding a low mileage salvage unit from a 91 accord. This is a compatible but updated version of the unit used in the 90 model. Just make sure the model designation is compatible (ie. dx/lx is different from ex). Good luck. You are going to need it.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SYSTEM PROBLEM

Yes,that code is a transmission code, pressure control solenoid A.On a Honda trans, there are two solenoids that control line pressure inside the trans. The two of them are made together into one assembly that Honda calls "Linear Solenoids".Most likely they are defective and need replacing, but require testing. They are mounted on the outside of the trans case,so the problem can be repaired without removing the transmission from the car.The actual diagnostic route for that trouble code involves ohms checking the wires from the vehicle computer to the solenoids.Ohms checking the solenoids, amps chekcing the solenoids, and then installing a line pressure gauge on the transmission to test the solenoids mechanically.I rebuild Honda and Acura transmissions on a regular basis, and solenoid failure is not out of the ordinary.Good luck.
