Someone stole the keys to my cadalac elderodo 1994 I can't afford a new set of keys so how can I bypass the smart lock, which stops the car from starting.

You did what someone who stole your truck would try, with predictable results. I suspect your only option is to take it to a dealer or qualified repair shop, have another ignition switch installed, and code the new key into the truck's security system.

You may be able to get a copy made by a dealer. I've had used cars with lousy copies of keys before. If you take, your registration/title with you VIN on it to a dealer to get a new key made. I'd call first, as helpfulness varies from location to location.

With steering wheel lock mechanism combined into ignition switch mechanism, you can't just "hot wire" your car like you see in movies. Starting a car and being able to steer it are two different things. Also, you probably do not want to mangle your ignition switch by ramming a flat head screw driver into it to try to bypass the steering lock mechanism (like someone who stole my car years ago did).

Getting a replacement key from a dealer can be much cheaper than repairing a botched job of trying to bypass the ignition switch.

Loose it or tow it. Year make and model? You will at least have to fix the key and lock.

You have the original key? If you don't, then save up to get t to a dealer and have the lock put in and have it reprogrammed. there is no bypassing a security system. Even places that claim this, all they do is bypass part of it. Like the key. Fords are different. They car has to be programmed to the key. Instead of the key programmed to the car.

Your ford dealer visit may not be as expensive as you think, you need 2 pats keys and have them perform an ignition key code erase then they should be able to program your 2 new keys, The Ford Dealer I work at only charges 0.5hrs or approx $50.00 dollars Canadian.

For the radio Im pretty sure you just need to call your dealer or go see them, they will take your VIN and give you a code to keep your after market stereo from kicking the theft lock.

The security light unfortunatly is a very common, and as it is just annoying right now, potentially big problem. The model Pass Key system in th 01 Olds Aurora tends to be defective in most of these cars. If the Security light, or DIC is flashing Theft fault system, you need to see your dealer. Chances are your secureity system is about to have some "Lock out" Malfunctions. These are no fun. Its when the Pass Key system detects a suspicious or uncorrect key trying to start car or someone is trying to enter car abnormally. Its actaully a very good feature when opperating properly. It usally lock the system for 3-10 minutes and the system resets and with the correct key you can start the car. The problem is that the little chips in the keys go bad causing the "lock out" to happen even when usuing the correct key. Anouther, less used key can work better, and if you start expieriencing lock outs, waiting to the system to reset usally works, but eventually those mthods will fail to and you will have to have it repaired. This system can also cause the "lock out" to occur while driving down the road.

Id get it checked and fixed before the neusance light become a real problem.

You can also consider a Bypass system that with completly go around the smart key system. They are inexpensive and effective and preventing issues with the Pass Lock. However you will not have the security settings from the Immobalizer (lock out) so it would be a easier target for joy riders. You will still have the theft deterant ability, that alarms if someone tried gaining entry to the car with out keys or proper entry methods.

Bypass systems are not full proof either and do wear out over time. I think they have far less issues than the securtity feature in the car and if the bypass fails and Lock Out occurs, simply get a new Bypass. Hope I helped a bit take care :-)
