How long to replace a waterpump in 2008 cobalt. How long does it take

if in dealer or auto shop a few hours --in driveway with out the special tools and or changing the timing chain at the same time will take most of if not all day

I would scrap the car.

2007 chevrolet cobalt burning smell after driving for a short time comes in through the heater but can also be smelt outside of the car

More then likely, it is a fluid of some type. I would say it is oil burning on the engine. Besides a smell and a little smoke, it shouldn't hurt anything. It would mean you have a leak of some kind though.

2006 cobalt 2.2 liter-----timing chain broken while driving---is this considered an "interference engine"? or can we just replace the chain, guides.etc...?

I have never seen a chain motor that was not interference.

Hi, The loud knock you are hearing is typically refer to as "spinning a bearing" OK, sounds like that's what is supposed to happen I know, BUT, the bearing is called a shell hearing, it is the bearings that are used in the connecting rod to crank connection.. Now, the repair... it is most common to replace the engine in these cases. You can expect around $3000.00 to $ 3500.00, replace the engine.
