If you look at the latching mechanism on the bottom of the door, you will see two metal teeth. If they are close together, you will have to have somone hold the handle like they were opening the door and use a screwdriver to seperate or open the teeth. Then you shold be able to close the door. Hope this helps :)

Latch door wont close

It won't close or won't latch? Check to see that the latch isn't already in the "latched" position. You may have to release the latch and pull it at the same time.

Door will not stay closed

Sounds like the latch is seized or the tension spring is broke.
You'll probably have to replace the latch.

2008 GMC 2500 Cargo Van Dash keeps sayin lr door is open and it is not!!! Driving me crazy!!

the latch in the left rear door is either bad or stuck, open door, then with a screwdriver, rock latches in door to simulate closed. release with exterior handle. spray lubricant (WD40) into latches and continue to exercise the latch. if this quick fix does not work, then a new latch for this door may be needed.

you may have to take off the inside panel and see if the inside latch is broken stop by your local nissan dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off pictures and diagrams showing you how it comes a part.

Can not close rear/cargo door, after depresing handle/latch and opening door - handle/latch is not coming back to it's original position and door can not be ''latched''.

Try spraying some lubricant into the latch and handle assembly and pull it back and forth to work it in.. You may want to remove the rear trim to get better access to the internals of the latch cable....
