Measure the voltage on the alternator. Should be about 14v. Then measure on the battery. If its not the same, then the wire from the alternator to the battery is open. Look for a 60 or 80A fuse in the fuse box. Run a heavy gauge wire from the alternator to the battery and see if the charging works.

New battery and new alt. but still doesn't charge 1999 f 150

check that the new alternator has the right type of regulator for it . If you have an internal regulated alternator on a car that has an external regulator then it will not charge . Both look the same but it may have int -reg on the housing some where.

I have a 2003 ford focus wagon second hand. My battery died out and I thought the alternator was the problem. Brought my car to an alternator repair shop and they said the alternator is still good. I ended...

Lead acid batteries don't like being discharged flat, and it could now be damaged and unable to hold a charge. It does sound as though the voltage regulator part of the alternator is allowing discharge to ground when it should not. You would seem to have a good warranty claim on the battery given they did check the alternator and pronounce it OK.

Do you have power?
battery might be drained cause your alternator is not charging anymore, 2003, seems about time for a new alternator, those vehicles consume lots of power cause pretty much everything is electric, lots of motors and servos, so they depend a lot on a good power source from the battery. If alternator doesnt charge it, no power...

have power system checked.

Good luck.

check your battery make sure it is able to take a charge. ,if the amps are good check your connection, from altenantor to battery. check voltage drops, battery drains. Your problem most likley seems to be
your battery. Your starter might also be draining your battery. You ll find the problem keep looking.

Battery not charging light comes on. new battery

I don't know what kink of car you have, but some will have a alternator fuse, also with a volt meter check voltage on big wire at back of alternator should have 13.5 + volt's, then check voltage at battery should have same voltage there also, do this with car running, if you do not have same voltage at battery less short between alternator and battery or bad fuse. There also some fuse links at starter on some car's.

Headlights go Dim

Hi

Check your alternator belt tension, if its ok, all connections behind alternator are good.

If the problem is still there, a new, or reconditioned alternator, seems the only answer !

Good Luck !
