Resistor pack is located in the lower heater fan housing and is accessable from foot well either drivers or passangers (could be either side) plate held on by some Torque screws
Hi all. Yes this is a very common issue. 2 distinct issues in fact are common with the aircon.
1 you get fan on certain settings only. This is the resistor gone and johnjohn2 has identified the fix for this above. This is usually (although not always not intermittent and so you will usually lose all other settings over night and they don't come back
2 you get no fan activity at all. This starts to happen intermittently and then gets more frequent until the fans won't work at all. The fix for this is expensive through Citroen but cheap if you get the part off ebay. It is the ignition switch cable which has a fault. A very common issue. You need to remove the ignition switch and replace the cable from it. Work is not long but plugs can be tight and fiddly.
here is the link for the part http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ignition-Switch-Cables-Wires-PEUGEOT-206-CITROEN-XSARA-PICASSO-Lock-Barrel-Plug-/121038091531?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c2e6eb50b
good luck
has your picasso got climate control? if so you probably have a faulty ignition switch
the contacts in the switch which supplies the live to the heater wear and cut the supply
