hi go to this http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/298993-diy-mercedes-w163-ml320-ml350-oil-change-pictures.html shows step by step instruction pics
Mercedes uses a service schedule with the letters A-H to denote the relevent maintenance recommended.A is the basic oil service and H is the most inclusive. The intermediate letters correspond to proportional services. The service light should be reset at the completion of the service. This can be done via interface or using the controls and menus on the steering wheel. The specific format for resetting is different for different years and models.Alldata is fairly accurate for reset guidelines, but is not correct on some.Make sure to use synthetic oil in all newer MB,especially with extended oil change intervals.
please go to the mercedes dealer and get a service book for that car.
these cars are very car specific and needs to be followed car by car only.
every car is different.
the service needed is not that much right now.
as 40,000 is low miles for this car.
do not go long on the service intervals.
and allways have the engine oil serviced sooner.the cleaner the oil the longer the engine life.
look in the glove box for the owners manuels.
it should be in a black leather binder with a zipper.
all scheduled service is in this leather binder.
if not go right to the dealer and ask them were it is.it very well maybe on the sales reps desk.
your vehicle is serviced in mainly 15,000 mile increments. 30k are the bigger of the 2. 60k is the biggest. oil is changed every 5k. at 15k change oil and spark plugs check air filter and inspect vehicle. at 30k replace trans fluid and filter as well and at 60k replace fuel filter. change oil on schedule and replace your timing chain and guide rails if vehicle has 100k or more miles-at least have them inspected because the chains do break. After oil change disable ignition and build up oil pressure before vehicle fires off. the chain tensioners are hydraulic
Service B means that there is a major service due. Brakes are not related. You will get a break warning light when they are due. The B service includes Oil and filter, Interior dust filter, Tire rotation, check of all the fluids, Lubricate all door and trunk hinges, and engine air filter. Also brake flush every 2 years.
although mercedes recomend using synthetic motor oil im 90% sure that your mechanics mistake (putting to much oil in it) ruined your piston rings thats what the white smoke is all about!! oil is getting into the cylinders!! make him replace them for free since he caused that prblem im sure he has insurance!!
hi,maintenance service is important special with new car,for warrant procedure, now since your car is out of warranty it is your decision, since your car is not in severe service or use, maybe extent your service, but if you use a synthetic oil base on your engine, pls. follow your service schedule,ty
