Make sure the pulley bolt is tight then check the pulley for being bent. if these 2 things are good then you may have a bent crankshaft at the pulley end or worn crank bearing causing it to wobble.

SOURCE: my crankshaft pulley wobbles and makes a weird noise

Hi there;
Somethimes this happens over time. It is usualy caused by an oil leak at or above the pully causing the rubber in the "hamonic balancer" which is part of that pully system to fail. If you don't have it repaired you will find the pully will wear through the cover behind it. So be sure to get it repaired.

Hope this helps, Good luck.
Farrout.

SOURCE: 1997 Bonneville - can't remove crankshaft pulley

You need a three jaw puller to remove the balancer. After you remove the center bolt the puller hooks into the three holes in the balancer.

SOURCE: how remove 1966 Ford Mustang 200 cu.in 6-cyl. crankshaft pulley

Hi,
You can remove that center bolt easily with an impact gun. It has normal threads on it. An impact gun will prove to be an affordable tool that you will use again. You can get an electric one from Harbor Freight. They make the job of removing tough bolts much easier. If the engine is in the car, you might not have enough room. You can use a ratchet and if the engine is turning, you can hold the pulley with another tool sold at Harbor Freight called a rubber strap wrench.

Testimonial: "Will report again when the job is done. Thanks for this info: 1) Center bolt is normal thread 2) Tools can be pruchased at Harbor Freight"

Crankshaft pulley has the wobble not spinning in a even manner

Most likely the rubber part of the harmonic balancer has deteriorated causing the twin pulleys to separate. Tightening would not help if this is the case. A replacement would be needed.

Can I change the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley) without special tools? It is wobbling pretty bad and causing very loud belt squeak.

yes just loosen your power steering pump to get the belts loose then get an air gun or figure out a wawy to keep the pulley still and it will come right off

How do i take off the crankshaft pulley

if you can see two or three threaded holes surrounding the crankshaft bolt hole, attach a steering wheel puller tool and it will come right out of there. if not, you should be able to pull it off by hand if you grab onto it, and wobble it whilst firmly pulling on it. G/L

Crankshaft pulley wobbled loose an alternator belt wont stay on...

dear friend-as this crankshaft pulley is cast iron it is impossible that it could be bent so you will have to remove it and look for damage inside the pulley and on the crankshaft,if this is not repaired the fanbelt will never stay on.
