Gear range depends on terrain / conditions.

4low would be used to move slowly, with large amounts of torque developed and transferred to wheels. It is not capable of road speeds without over-revving the engine.

4high is best all around conditions, and necessary for road travel for any speed above a slow run.

Where is the 4 wheel drive switch located on the transfer case I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

If it is a limited, it doesn't have a switch. They are full time 4 wheel drive. A regular Grand has the 4wheel shifter right beside the regular gear shifter.

How to shift from 2wheel drive to any of the 4 wheel drive modes thank you

if I'm not mistaken, it has the shifter for the 4wd just to the left of the gear shift? In that case, the best way it to stop, put the gear shift in Neutral, then place the 4wd selector in your mode of choice.

How can i use the 4 x 4 in my 2000 grand cherokee laredo (6 cyl) i dont have the owners manual and i dont know how to use my 4x4 on snow or something like that

With the Jeep in park, move the left shifter to 4 wheel drive. Proceed to put right shifter into drive, proceed to drive. Only use 4wheel drive when neccessary...ie...snow, mud, use 4 wheel lo in steep incline or when really bogged down.

Hope this helps

Stuck in four wheel in front tire only.

If Jeep is equip with push button 4x4 try this.
If you are stuck in four wheel drive disengage four wheel try backing it up 10ft to re aline transfercase gears.( Also linkage under truck maybe stuck.)

If Jeep is equip with lever on floor.
This one is a common problem lever on floor becomes stuck and won't let you disengage it. Have to Spray linkage with WD-40 or some kind of penetrating spray under truck where the linkage comes out of the floorand goes to the transfercase.

(Floor lever, Its tuff to get it to release I know I went through the same problem on my truck I had push it into 2wheel by using my leg.)

Hi dear

Converting to a 4 wheel drive  will take several thousands of dollars in parts and several more thousands in labor.  It requires a front axle and driveshaft transfer case, transmission, new electonics in some cases, drilling of holes thru the floor.  Converting a 2wd to a 4 wd is almost unheard of because of the cost involved.  If you really need a 4 wd, sell the Jeep and get a 4wd Jeep. Sorry if this is bad news

Wont go in to gear

Underneath transfer shifter is what is called a "sheet" under the shift lever ball. The sheet is a plastic spacer that breaks up, remove broken pieces and tnstall new shet, available at a Suzuki dealer
