If the ABS light is on, that means there's a trouble code stored in the computer. If you clear the code but don't fix the problem, the light will just come on again. You have to fix the problem

Hello and thanks for the question, The anti lock brakes system is somewhat complex. There are many reasons as to why the ABS lamp flashed on and the back off ( ie. Wheel speed sensors, relays, poor power supply, bad grounds). There's really no other way of telling without haveing the codes retrieved from the ABS module( computer).

The 2006 Mazda Tribute w/o factory tow package can't accept a trailer wiring harness. If you install one you will probably burn out the central computer as I did. I had a top notch trailer hitch instaler try three different brand harnesses. I feel Mazda should reimburse me the cost of this car new, as I bought it to tow and was told that it could tow 3500 lbs. False representation!
