There isn't a bulb back there any more. It is a LED (light emitting diode). They can be replaced. Soldered in. It is either a bulb type, two leads that have to be remove from the back side of the PC board. Or a surface mount that has to be removed from the front of the PC board. The bulb type is easy, the surface mount is about than 1/8 X 1/16 inch square.

I have a chevy 2005 equinox and the light is out for the odometer!! Checked the fuses and they are good! What else could it be?

hi.
there are actually bulbs in the back of the clock units. if it is only one clock affected, then the bulb has probably blown. it is not particularly difficult to remove the clock unit and replace the bulb, but it can be very tricky finding all the clips and screws to do it.
your best bet is to get hold of a workshop manual for the car as this should have diagrams and photos showing exactly where the clips and screws are.

hope this helps

In my 2006 Chevy Equinox, the odometer suddenly went all black; I suspect a blown fuse or maybe a tiny light bulb? Thanks to Google, I now know where the fuse boxes are in the Equinox, but was not given...

Here is the owners manual ...

On page 5-85 there is this diagram of the fuse box inside the cabin....IGN 1 is the instrument cluster fuse
capture-ao3nksfm22kcgpjoeoyqhmtx-2-0.png The the odometer light was the ONLY one to go out ... odds are it is not the fuse .... but now you know how to check that fuse

How much cost replace odometer bulb

Hello... You normally can"t just replace a bulb on the odometer. You have to replace the whole instrument panel. You might be able to find one at a junk yard...

Good Luck...

Odometer Light

I have a 2005 Equinox and recently had the problem with the odometer bulb going out. Only the bulb needs to be replaced--NOT THE ENTIRE CLUSTER!! The process to remove and replace the bulb is a simple one. First tilt the steering wheel out of place, pull bezel straight out carefully, and with 7mm screw head remove the four mounting screws and pull cluster out. Disconnect cluster and remove burnt out bulb by giving it a counter clockwise quarter turn. Insert new bulb and turn it clockwise quarter turn. Plug in cluster again, insert the mounting screws, replace bezel. Very simple. The bulb replacement that I used was different than the original but has the same voltage and watts--the old one had a white base with frosted cover, while the new one had a beige base and clear--which made the new light brighter but very workable. I used 39118 Bulb 20210B24 DE66K2 12V 1.5w or this one should work: http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Number/Bulb-12V---15W-with-Beige-Socket-Base-for-Dashboard-Instruments-__62111391260_OSR_2439488A.aspx . I hope this helps..
