Michael, check your engines oil level right away, low or dirty oil is the main cause. Other things that can cause this issue could be worn or dirty cam lifters or tappets, exhaust leak, loose worn timing chain, possible EGR valve cracked or leaking at base, bad belt or tension er, the list could go on. Sounds like a Relay is clicking on and off. Put your hand on the relays until you can feel it click on and off. then see what that relay is used for. It's function should be on the cover of the Electrical compartment

it could be a stuck vent they open and close when you start a car if the little door in side is stuck the motor that opens and close them will slip and cause a clicking noise as the motor wants to turn

ticking noise sounds like a small exhaust leak. Get under car and run your hand near where you hear it. That could be because of the recent exhaust work. A small leak sounds just like a tick in the engine

intake valves on the R side of cyl.head.exhaust valves on L side looking at engine from transmission end. need to perform a compression test on each cylinder making sure that the psi doesnt vary by more than a cpl. psi between cylinders.FUEL INJECTOR is very likely.AND injectors make a clicking noise when energized.a click each time injector is pulsed.(thats each time the cylinder is fired=alot of ticking or clicking)the higher the rpm the more rapid the noise.injectors are on the intake side of cylinder head. opposite side from exhaust manifold(the manifold that your tailpipe attaches) unplug injector on no.2 cyl(if thats where your misfire is) while the engine is running, if the engine runs the same without staggering or stalling there is your problem. good luck and happy motoring ___O^-o

May be under the valve cover. Lifter may be going flat or tappets loose or bad pushrod. don-ohio (:^)

The fact that it happened after you got it serviced is obvious that there something that was not done right. Check the engine oil, cuz clicking noise is sometimes caused by not enough engine oil or no oil at all!!

May be mice, but I had a truck that did that from a worn speedo cable.

I would say this is to do with the alarm system , the alarm modual is inside the drivers front wing.To get in to inspect it means the removal of the front wheel arch liner , or the plastic cover.. . This is a comon problem .
