My 2002 BMW x5 seems to be idling for no reason and the truck starts jerking when in drive position.

Ur BMW X5 series is having a transmission problems and it going to be worst if u don't take this car to a AMGO or the BMW dealership to take a look at it transnission gear box.Must have the car transmission fix.If u adnore this problems long enough the car transmission gears in the box will evenly buckle and grain to a ruin all of the gears parts teeths and than the car have to be in reverse and go to drive again every times tries to drive this car.Evenually all the gears teeths in the transmission box are all gone this car will go into iddle and will not go into drive gear at all.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire 5 days ago car started jerking ( it felt like I was driving a standard shift car) it does this alot when I accelerate or turn corners. it also makes a very loud noise when in park

Sounds like the torque converter lockup is having issues im not certain on that model but the older ones had a plug down in the front square with four wires i believe you can unplug and it will work fine

"car jerks/jumps"

These is because of the improper combustion, so you better check the air filter and the exhaust along with that you replace all the spark plugs

2001 530i battery drain/alternator question

first off never never never trust a tow truck driver they are idiots, it takes a BMW 15 mins to go into a sleep mode before a draw can be mesured, as for the dealership they should have caught that using the Midtronics batt/alt tester that is standard from BMW 2.5 years for a batt replacement is reasonable especially in a BMW based on the high demand on the electrical system, I just replaced an alt on an M54 enginge just today so they do go bad, have them give you a print out from the midtronics with your VIN on the printout showing your alt is bad and what the batt is.

(!) A Light like that went off and my steering well got stuck!?

hello this the indicator for a transmision fault or problem /the pulling motion you felt could be a harsh shift from the transmision when you were coming to a stop . if the light is on the vehicle should feel slow when driving off because when this light is on the transmision will go in to felsafe mode and will actualy shift its self to 4 gear to give you a high gear for highway use . you should take the vehicle to a certified bmw shop or mecanic to have it check out , dont used it in fellsafe mode this could damage the transmision internaly and that will become a $ problem ,.
