SOURCE: 1989 chevrolet caprice alternator draining

There is a circuit staying open that is draining the battery. Chances are it is the ignition switch or the starter relay. Most likely it's the ignition switch. If it stays open the starter circuit continues to draw power even though the car is off. It's under the dashboard above the gas pedal. Someone should be able to test it with a circuit tester to see if it's the problem. Good luck!

SOURCE: chevrolet tracker starter replacement

thomas perkins should verify his info before posting; the autozone website DOES NOT have a chevy tracker repair manual available on line - so don't go there

SOURCE: replacing fuel filter for 1999 chevrolet tracker

Passenger side, undeneath, next to fuel tank.
Your 2002 Chevy Tracker (2wheel drive and 4wheel drive are the same) with the 2.5L V-6 has an inline fuel filter located on the passenger(right hand) side of the vehicle. Just behind the wheel well on the underside of the vehicle next to the fuel tank is where you'll find it. If you've never changed a fuel filter on a fuel injected vehicle, watch out for the quick connect fittings as you could damage the flexible plastic fuel line. Most auto parts stored sell tools to disconnect the fittings, but I have better luck with fingers, pliers and maybe a small flat bladed screw driver. Also, you'll need to de-pressurize the system before removing the old one or fuel could spray out when disconnected.

Put new starter on still wont crank

You may have a bad ignition switch, a blown fuse somewhere or a bad relay. Do you have power going to the starter. That is the first thing I look for. Does the starter click at all? If not, it's a relay or the ignition switch.
