SOURCE: driver side power seat 2001 Chevy Tahoe

as long as nothing is stuck in track and you hear no noise when using switches, look for broken wire at connector or in harness. ck fuse first of course, if blown, something may be stuck in track causing it to stop and blowing fuse

SOURCE: how do I remove the ignition switch on a 1999 chevy suburban?

Ok, start by disconnecting you negative battery cable. From there, wait at least 1 minute to disable your airbag system. You will have to remove the airbag from the steering wheel, it's retained by a couple bolts on the back of the steering wheel. Once you get the airbag out, disconnect the wires to it, and set it aside. Remove the clip that is above the lock nut for the steering wheel, then remove the lock nut. You need a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off. After you remove the steering wheel, you should have access to the turn signal switch.

SOURCE: i am trying to remove my fuel tank from a 96 chevy suburban and replace the fuel pump

ok i'm going to guess that you have a gasoline engine with a side tank like in a pickup truck. if you have a diesel let me know, things might be a little different. here's the step by step for a gas side tank. before you start, disconnect the battery negative cable.
1. drain the fuel from the tank (they don't tell you how, just get as much out as you can)
2.raise and safely support vehicle (get it high enough that you can get under it to work on it)
3.loosen the fuel neck hose at fuel neck and disconnect filler neck from tank
4.support tank and remove tank support straps and insulator strips
5.remove frame mounted bracket
6.lower fuel tank shield
7.lower fuel tank enough to gain access to fuel and electrical connections
8.disconnect fuel feed and vapor hoses
9.disconnect electrical connectors
10.remove fuel sender assembly and seal ring
now to install new tank
1.install NEW seal ring and install sender
2.raise tank enough to connect fuel feed /vapor hoses and electrical connector
3.raise tank fully
4.install fuel tank shield
5.connect fuel tank filler neck and tighten clamp
CAUTION tighten fuel strap fasteners in steps, alternating between straps, until proper torque is reached. failure to properly follow this step can cause bottom of tank to deform. fuel gauge may read improper level if this occurs
6.install fuel tank brackets and insulator strips
torque nuts to 115 in-lbs
7.install fuel tank filler cap
8.connect battery negative cable
9.turn ignition switch off and on and check for leaks
it's pretty much the same for rear tank, just different location, may have off-road shield in back and torque spec is 47 ft-lbs, not 115 in-lbs. you still have to alternate when you torque straps or you risk deforming tank. hope that helps

How do i remove passenger side front seat on a chevy malibu

I don't have one in front of you, so this is a generic answer. Important: unhook wiring connector or connectors under the seat! If you don't, you will rip it out when you remove the seat and it will be a huge expense to repair/replace it. You should see 4 bolts that attached to each seat legs, unbolt these. If there is nothng else attached to it, you simply remove the seat.

How to remove drivers side seat 1999 chevy malibu

Usually configuration on any seat. Slide seat all the way back and take out 2 front bolts. Sometimes the bolts are covered with a plastic cover that needs to be removed. Slide seat all the way forward the remove the 2 back bolts. Then I usually tilt the seat backwards and unhook any wires underneath. Carefully lift seat out of the vehicle being careful not to scratch the car.

How to install a car seat in a 1999 chevy cavalier

You must try and pop a clip off of the rod sticking out of the passenger side seat where the hinge bracket is. Once the clip is removed (be careful it is only plastic)the back oof the seat can be slid about 1/2 an inch over towards the passenger side, causing the rod on the opposite side of the seat to be released from it's hinge braket.
Then simply lift the back part of the seat on the drivers side about 1 inch ( with the seat folded forward all the way)and jiggle very slightly as you pull outwards, towards the drivers side. That should do it.

Seat belt repair

first for the switch in window
the window switch is easy to test you just gotta remove switch out of the door leaving it hang there is a way to test with a guaged wire with fuse on it
take the main power wire and touch to the other connectors on the main switch if the window goes down or up the switch is the problem
im suggesting this way first with fuse cause its easier then testing the windows motor inside the door frame the switches should just pop out of the panel with out haveing to take panel off

now the seat belts there are 2 style that are common to chevy
one is inside the molding of the drivers panel you gotta pop off the panels easily and gently to get at the seat belt retractor this will be bolted to the metal under the molding

the other style is in the seat which you gotta unbolt the seat under the top half it will need to be unbolted at the bottom top half of seat
when you pull threw the top section of top half of seat remember to tie a string to the end so that when you pull threw top half the string will be there so you can connect too new belt and pull back threw with ease make the string long enough to hang

now the bottom half of seat what i call the "**** seat" you remove the molding at bottom around the belt retractor this will be bolted to floor bolt also pull belt threw molding once molding removed
disconnect any electric wires

now saftey issue involved with seat belt removal is for a reason i dont know of the dealer ship always discharges the belts and air bags once removed i guess because of static electricity becareful when you remove belt and replacing belts cause static elec. can set them off
once your seat belt is removed place in card board box and take to dealer after complition of installing new belt they will discharge your seat belt for you and then you can dispose of it properly
