I have a 2000 Ford Expedition. Every day I have to get a jump. I had the battery and alternator tested and was told they are good. When my truck doesn't start my interior lights and when I do get a jump my clock is still set at the right time. Also my locks go off at random and most the time I have to hold the Lock button down for it to stop.

I think it's your alarm system that is draining your battery own. It's got a ground problem and will continue on until it's changed. For a test unplug your door lock and alarm system connectors from their assemblies and check if that cured your problem. Let me know Gabe.

Clean the battery terminals and also check for a Good Ground - use a star type washer and connect the negative battery lead to a clean grounded steel part like attenator bracket for example - if the existing grd is rusty that may be your problem

Testimonial: "By looking at it the terminals are clean."

1991 ford escort battery keeps dying

Check and clean and tighten all battery, starter, and alternator connections. Also the battery and engine to chassis grounds. Did you have the battery " load tested" as a good test requires?
Take the battery out and have it charged up. If the alternator is good, you should not have any more problems. But if you need a jump after a few days to start it, then either the alternator or the battery is just not up to par. Have the alternator tested while on the car and running.
Good luck.

The battery light on the dash came on 4 days ago on my 2000 Ford Expedition (5.4 l), but still ran ok for a day. The next day, started car, then the radio shut off and I turned off the car and tried to...

When your battery light comes on it is telling you that your ALTERNATOR is not charging your battery! So you need to replace the alternator.

You can verify that it is bad by taking the car or just the alternator to an auto parts store and having them test it for you for free.

Hello i have a 2004 expedition , and i have been having issues with my battery draining. about a month and a half ago i went away vacation , came home to start my truck only to relize my battery was dead....

Your solution is a little hard to find too bad they told you to change the alternator. It is a simple fuse you need to change that is blown. on the expetion sometimes there are two one in the fuse box and one under a black cover follow the alternator small wires it should point to the direction of the small i believe 7.5 amp fuse. it was hard to find and i do this for a living. good searching.

Our 2004 Ford Expedition will not start after 10 to 12 hours of idle time. Truck is in garage overnight. I cannot even use a jump box in the am to jump it off. I have to jump off our other vehicle using...

If you disconnect the battery over night and the vehicle starts after reconnecting ti in the AM then you have a short some where. If this works let me know and I can try and help you further through a process of elimination. Thanks.

On my 2000 expedition battery light came on, took alt. off had checked an they told me it was good, put back in car battery light still on

"They" are probably mistaken. You can't always test every internal component of the alternator on the test bench. I would try a new unit, keep it clean and maybe you can return it if you know a friendly parts supplier.
