Is the check engine light on? How long has it been since the engine was tuned up? A worn plug that is "hot soaked" can create a longer cranking time. Hot soaked means it may have some un-burned fuel in the cylinder since the first cold start. A weak or worn plug has a harder time getting this fuel burned out of the cylinder when more fuel is being added during a warm start.

2015 Toyota Tacoma with Viper Ds4+ cranks for 20 secs stops cranks then starts.

  1. Cold weather: Cold temperatures can affect the performance of the engine and make it harder to start.
  2. Battery issue: A weak or failing battery can cause the engine to take longer to start.
  3. Starter issue: If the starter is worn or damaged, it may struggle to crank the engine, especially in cold weather.
  4. Ignition system problem: If there's an issue with the ignition system, such as a faulty spark plug or ignition coil, it can cause the engine to crank for a long time before starting.
  5. Viper DS4+ installation issue: The Viper DS4+ remote start system may not have been installed correctly, or it may have a defect that's causing the issue.

Automatic choke problem

93 mirage doesnt have a choke, it is fuel injected! What exactly do you mean by hard to start? Does it take longer than normal to start, does it initially crank slower than normal? You could try cycling the key before attempting to start it! By this i mean, thrn the key to RUN, wait a couple seconds, turn key to off, turn back to run, wait a couple seconds,, turn to off, then attempt to start! See what that does!

Lately my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 v6 3.7 has been hard to start in the cold, have to crank several times before it will turn over, do not know if it could be a tune up is needed or not it now has 94,000 miles...

indicates an ambient air temp sensor or BARO sensor problem
run the fault codes
the ECM tunes the engine every 60 seconds from reports for sensors so the old fashioned tune up is not longer cost effective
better to have the fault codes read on a regular basis
an occasional can of quality injector cleaner in the tank is a good investment

96 Toyota 4Runner sputters when starting when hot only!

how about the fuel filter. I didn't see this on your list and it should be done every 20000km and the air filter. I think its a fuel filter. not the pump. could be the coils but I would start cheap and change fuel filter first. when the pump is cold it pumps with more psi to blow passed the clooged filter after warm it is weaker and has a hard time pushing through the clog

Try cycling the key to just on, then off, on, off, 2 or 3 times & see if that helps with start? (priming fuel system) to see if maybe pump is getting weak or possibly filter plugged.
