You do not normally "reset" the computer.. If you are asking how to turn off the service engine soon, or any other check engine lights you need a "scan Tool" which many auto parts stores sell.. in some areas ( Not California) you can go to an auto zone or other auto parts stores and thet will scan it for you, they can clear the codes. The codes that they give you when they scan can tell you a lot about what is wrong or going wrong with your car.

For security. If everything is working. Shut the doors and lock it up. Unlock the drivers side door. This should reset security. Reset the ECM. disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. This only resets the ECM to factory defaults. It will not fix any problems.

This blinking light indicates a problem. You will have to have it scanned for trouble codes to find out
what it is.

If you are reseting a factory alarm...lock and unlock the drivers door with the key. If you don't know the code look under the dash driver side in left corner there should be a black cover with a sticker with a code on it 6 numbers that is the factory code.

How can I repair my 1998 ford expedition's computer

Best thing to do is replace it. You can try getting one from a Pull-A-Part or junk yard reasonable or order one from a parts store but they are very expensive and you really need to know how to do it correctly. Otherwise you could damage other components. When it comes to car computers, the best advice is take it to your dealer and let them install it and reset it.
