Check the shut off switch at door & the one at the headlight switch. Sounds like a short in one.

SOURCE: engine 1 fuse keeps blowing when you turn the key

Engine 1 fuse powers the computer and some sensors. I had this same problem on a 98 chevy van 3500 and found the wire going to one of the oxygen sensors had shorted out on the heat shield. Inspect the wires going to all of the oxygen sensors. On this van one of the oxygen sensors on the driverside the wire was laying on the heat shield which eventually rubbed through the wire and shorted it out blowing the fuse. Your short could be on a different sensor but check all of the oxygen sensors because the wire runs so close to the sharp heat shield.

SOURCE: interior dome lights wont activate wh en doors

If none of the interior door lights work, check the fuse, and check the bulb. If they are both ok, then you may have a bad relay or switch but you will have to trace the wiring which is a pain.

SOURCE: dome light keeps blowing fuses

Has your son added a non standard Radio (they usually do ) this modification may be your problem , check the wiring at dash, also i Pod or phone chargers plugged into cigarette lighter socket can be a problem. Bigger fuses should NEVER be substituted unless the original circuit rating has differed from original manufactures spec and suitable adjustments made ie Higher wattage H/lamps or added on acessories etc.

Is there a specific fuse for the interior dash lights for this vehicle? Mine will only work when I turn on the dome light?

The dash lights have a fuse. If this fuse is good then check your brake light fuse. If the brake light fuse is blown then no power will go to your dash lights. This is a safety feature to alert you to faulty brake lights.

Ny dome lights will not go off. have to pull the fuse.

Try adjusting your dimmer switch. If your dimmer switch is turned to high, it will turn on your interior lights on. You'll find your dimmer switch on the same panel where you head light switch is located, easy to accidentally moved it all the way to turn on your interior lights on.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck. Keep me posted, if it's not your dimmer switch. The it's going to be one of your door pins are bad and shorted, causing your interior lights to stay on.

Interior light fuse blows

Have him or her check for a ground issue or a bad wire somewhere. You should not be having to do this. This is some sort of electrical issue in the wiring most likely a grounding problem

Battery

Sounds like your dome light circuit has a grounded out wire, this will cause the fuse problem, and your switches are located in the ground wires. So if your hot wire is shorted out anywhere it will blow fuses and drain the battery.
