Should the oil and oil filter be replaced at the initial 3000km service?

Disconnect batt for a minute

Check to be sure you don't just have a leak somewhere.
If you are getting oil sheen on top of the coolant in your radiator, or if the oil is turning gray, it's a head gasket or cracked head. If you are getting blue smoke at idle, it is piston rings. Either way, it sounds like you have a predictably worn engine after 10 years of use.

Depends on your engine.

1. Add extra oil when replacing filter. After refill check oil level.
2. With engine automatic transmission operating temperature, shift through all gears.
Check fluid level in NEUTRAL and add fluid as needed.
3. 1984-1992 Models with command-Track, add 5 oz of 75W-90 GL-5 to shift motor housing opening.

Rotate tires
Replace engine coolant 2
Visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs

1) Reset the oil replacement reminder (“MAINT REQD”) light after replacing engine oil, if vehicle is equipped with this light.
2) Initial replacement at 100,000 miles/120 months. Replace every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter. Refer to "Engine Coolant" in the "Explanation of Maintenance Items" section in the back of this guide for more information.

go to status, maitenance and then set the next oil change schedule to 37500 mile from what you have in the Dem.

hi,your oil filter is located at rear end of your cylinder head,intake manifold side,using a tool,remove the black plastic for oil filter,brake pad replacement, same procedure with ordinary car,for water pump,remove your radiator shroud,remove your belt tensioning device,before you remove your belt,make sure you draw or memorize the rotation,ty

it's expensive but not as expensive as replacing the engine... was the oil pressure checked ?

what sort of rings were used.you could cut open the oil filter and see whats in there what condition were the bottom end bearings in.running too hot?what sort of pistons,forged or cast?how was it run in
