1999 Jimmy cough and electrical blinks for a secant when first excelerating

Only when starting out, the engine coughs and electrical goes out for about 2 seconds then runes fine untail starting out again

It sounds like a bad connection or a broken wire somewhere. Check to make sure that all connections to the battery, engine, and chassis grounds are clean and tight.

It surely could be. Ignition/electrical will just die. Fuel will cough and sputter.

egr position sensor aka the dpfe is often the culprit, its mounted on the firewall and has an electric connector and vaccum lines going to it.

It appears you have possibly a bad MAF sensor. It's in the intake duct. If its dirty, wash it off with CRC electrical cleaner. Do not touch, rub or brusj. dries quickly. See if this helps. Good Luck, Ned
