Re: I notice a clunk when turning left or go over a bump.
Can you tell if its from the front or rear? It could be so many things. Most likely it's sway bar end links. I'd definitely have a shop take a look at it.

Do you have 4 wheel drive ? If you do you "could " have a problem with the transfer case. The noise you describe is indicative of transfer case issues.
Check your top shock absorber and/or strut mounts, they may have been hammered by the many bumps and stripped out the mounting hardware on top just an eighth of an inch which will cause super loud bangs as that side wobbles up and down and hits into the Body Metal. These can get dangerous if left loose at all, my old boss said his Taurus would change lanes by itself at 120 Km/hr in the rain!
A clunking sound in the front is very often the CV joints. This should be more obvious in a slow tight turn. If it is not the CV and is more noticeable on rough roads it could be any one if the suspension joints.
Not likely more common for sway bar links. The upper and lower portion of the links become loose and cause a clunking noise turning or over bumps. They are also known for the lower intermediate steering shaft. This is more common and noticeable just turning especially in parking lot maneuvers (not going over bumps).

You need to check for a possible missing rubber bushing on the left front suspension, most likely on the control arm. My daughter's car had the same symptom, and that was what I ended up finding. I replaced all of bushings on where the torsion bars bolt up to the control arms, and it drove fine after that. I hope you have success in finding a fix.!
the clunk over bumps is either strut mounts or stabilizer end links. calipers are bad when you feel a pull when braking, or u notice excessive heat coming from your wheel
I have 3 2005 Malibus - 1 Maxx LT, 1 Sedan LT, and 1 Sedan LS. All three needed to have the steering rod replaced by 50K miles. You'd feel a muted clunk through the wheel when turning. The other light clunk issue I had with the Maxx was I hit a parking curb and it broke the lower radiator bracket. In certain bumps you'd feel a light clunk. A new $22 bracket fixed the issue and now I make sure I never pull too far into the spaces in the garage at work.
