My old toyota soarer 1987 gz20 1ggte, will no longer lock/unlock the doors using the car alarm remote, it just arms/disarms the alarm only. I have autowatch alarm installed.
Check the batteries in your remote the may need replaced and if working OK check to see if you power locks work pushing the door switch. (If batteries are low they may not disengage both the alarm and the locks)

This is how to reset the alarm
Roll up all windows exit the car lock all doors with the remote, then wait ten minutes, unlock the door using the key, that will reset the alarm.
without remote I found this, have no idea if it will work, but worth a try!!
this is a problem that can appear after your car battery died, cause the car didn't reset propely, so taking the battery out and putting it back in or letting your car die again would do the trick. I tried a lot of reprogramming procedured for my remote key, none of them worked, what did the trick though was simply unlocking the doors via the all door unlock button on the passenger side door, so simple.
My van is similar to your situation. I had the car alarm company who installed alarm reinstall a sensor and it worked for awhile..I have to get it done again or change whole alarm system/auto door locks altogether (update).. Good luck..
you need to reset alarm/immobiliser.lock car with remote, hold button down for 30 secs, then press/hold down unlock button, should reset.another way is with key in ignition/turned on, press alarm button down and hold for 30 secs.this resets immobiliser.toyota
systems vary..depending on market.
1. Start with key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and drivers door is unlocked. 2. Insert key into ignition (Do not turn) and pull it out. 3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Using the power door lock switch on drivers door perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. Use an even pace and try to go about one cycle per second. (1 cycle = 1 lock and 1 unlock.) B. Close, then open drivers door. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Using the power door lock switch on drivers door perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. Use an even pace and try to go about one cycle per second. (1 cycle = 1 lock and 1 unlock.) B. Insert the key in the ignition cylinder. C. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF. D. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF. E. Remove the key from the ignition. 5. Within 3 seconds the power door locks should cycle automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second. B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds the door locks should cycle once indicating successful programming. If the door locks don't cycle or cycle twice, repeat steps A and B, your remote has not been accepted. C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new transmitter. 7. Close drivers door.
If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.
sounds like it's in theft mode?
try using the fob to lock and unlock the doors 3X then open the drivers door with the key
if that does not work use the kill switch
