2009 ford f150 got stuck in the driveway...ice... while running the truck would not shift out of park, I shut it off and tried to re start it and it would not start. I've tried to jump it..nothing. I tried to turn the key on and shift to neutral but it will not shift at all and will not start. Help!

Does the brake lights work? If not check the fuses,and maybe brake light switch at the brake pedal.It can shift if you turn the key on(only enough to un-lock the steering wheel) then shift it to neutral,then start the vehicle,just remember if you shift it back to park it will be stuck again..Dont try driving it if the brake lights do not work,very dangerous for you and other drivers.

Its Possible the chain in transfer case is stretched I had the same problem a used case was 250 at my local salvage yard

Standard Trans.-Clutch cable broke?

check your fuses
the press brakes to shift system is not working
also may have no brake
lights on unit

check fuse 6,, 5amp and 13,,15amp. In the fuse box in on the driver side.

If they are good then the brake switch is prabably failed.

Shifting linkage needs adjustment.
