1997 jeep grand cherokee won't start after alarm went off

I just had the same prblem. Reconnect your alarm first of all. You need to use your key bob "remote" to deactivate the alarm before starting. It is a feature "good one" i might add that should someone try to steal it the jeep will not start until u deactivate it w theke bob.

My 2006 Buick Lacrosse warning light started dinging while I was driving and the seat belt light for passenger seat started flashing even though there was no one in the seat. After stopping the car I...

It sound like two or three separate problems, but it's hard to tell. The seat belt warning could be a faulty switch which senses a passenger in the seat, while the trunk lid opening could be a battery problem in the key fob. However, if the door locks still work with the same key fob, the problem is more likely with the lock on the trunk. Not starting after stopping could be a battery problem.

Upgrading key central locking to fob system, wires don't match up

Does this involve an anti theft deterrence system. If so
it's very sophisticated and best left to the dealer. Even
the ignition start system, without the key bob, is a little
complicated. I would check with a certified lock smith
to see if it's a non dealer item.

94 cherokee will start temporarily then die, lights are flashing. Key and key bob have no effect on it.

Lock and unlock the tailgate with the key to shut off alarm. The security system will reset and then you can start the car.

Check with dealer on technical service bulletin, and/or recall regarding this. My Daughter had same problem, it was to do with sensor in ignition for recognizing key.
Have heard some say, reducing static before putting key in also helps, such as rubbing hand across metal roof or door post prior to inserting key. Dealer stated it's to do with radio frequencies interrupting signal, but they don't sound 100% sure on that either , but apparently new part is less, or not as sensitive.
