SOURCE: 1989 chevy 1/2 ton.brake lights or emergency

The Blinkers and the Brake Lights are the same bulb. So check the brake light switch. Flashers use a different flasher unit, than the turn signals

SOURCE: How do you remove the front drive shaft in a 1999

Jack up front end, and put on stands. Remove wheel. Remove large nut on end of drive shaft. Remove lower control arm, from wheel hub bearing assm.
Push drive shaft back toward transmission.
Now that drive shaft is free, you must "pop" it out of transmission output.
You can use a pry bar, but be careful not to damage anything.

You will need to replace the Brake Light switch which is located on your Brake Pedal.

Make sure your dash lights are working. If not then the headlight switch needs to be replaced. If this is okay go to the back of the truck under the rear bumper on the driver's side and you should see a plug where the tail light harness plugs into the body wire harness. Check this carefully for corrosion ( green gunk) and broken wires. Over time this plug usually corrodes up and wires rot off. I always cut it out and spliced the wires together with heat shrink tubing and tape.

The light sockets ground to the box behind the lens so make sure the black wire has bare shiny metal to metal contact on both sides of the box. The sockets themselves could also be worn enough so as to not make proper contact. Also check the wire harness at the light for chaffing and bad insulation. If I had a nickel for every time I had to fix this....... I kept a roll of tape in the truck at all times.

If you still have nothing, then you will likely have to follow the body harness back to the fuse block looking for the same thing, chaffing or broken wires. You can remove it by undoing the 5/16 bolt in the center of the block and pulling off the left side. All wires to the back of the truck are on this plug.

If you still have nothing then check under the dash. Trace the wires from the brake light switch to the wires from the blinkers. They both use the same side of the bulb. Dark green and yellow if I remember right.

If you have the floor mounted dimmer switch, check the plug in for it very carefully for corrosion. I'm pretty sure your wires go through it too, not sure why. Hope this helps.

I have an 2004 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 4.8l with code c0237. How hard is it to replace the throttle position sensor?

C0237? That is an erratic rear speed sensor fault. Is your abs light on? The speed sensor may be unplugged, wire harness damaged, sensor may be failing. The tps is part of the throttle motor assembly. Very expensive, but very easy to change.

C0281 code

the c0281 code on a gm truck is the abs ECBM has lost the voltage to it when the brake pedal is not depressed. so if you are going at a speed above 10-15MPH and the ECBM looses the 12 volts to it ,when the brake pedal is NOT depressed ,, then this code gets generated. the brake switch has a 12 volt feed to the abs switch contact connector. the other side of this switch goes to the other connector pin. these switches wear out get dirty with time. replacing the switch or if your up to it take the switch apart and clean the contacts with a fine abrasive material to remove the oxidation. if pitted or worn replace the switch. one wire is brown the other is purple. working the brake pedal watching the volts is easy way to see if the voltage is steady when you wiggle the brake pedal.. driving on a rough road with a bad switch usually gets it acting up.

I have code C0281 WHAT IS IT AND HOW DO I FIX THE PROUBLEM

This C code is what is designated as a Chassis code . The specifc code is a generic and means

C0281 - Brake Switch Circuit:

It indicates a problem with the brake lamp circuit. Inspect the switch and circuit.

Code C0281 is set if computer never sees the brake switch release after speeds above 15 mph during start-up.

Could be a sticky pedal or the calipers not releasing properly !

Hope that helps !
