First lift wiper blade up off the windshield like you would when changing the blades. It should stay up by itself, then look under the end that mounts over the shaft, it's a shaft end that the wiper arm goes on, it's splined so it wont slip when in motion. But you should be able to pry up on it and it should pop right off. Just look at it first to make sure theres not a bolt or nut holding it down, some of the wipers are mounted that way and the nut or bolt is covered right at the end, usually it will come up with a lil nudge, Just look it over good and you will see how the cover is held down. If theres no cover hiding a nut , then you would just pry up on it to remove. good luck!

My windshield wipers moter is running but wipers not moving I got a 2002 ponniac Bonneville

If upon turning the switch, you hear either a buzzing or a noise coming from the wiper area but no movement of the windshield wipers, then it becomes likely that there is a mechanical problem. In front wiper systems, there are two moving parts, the wiper motor and the wiper transmission. In rear wiper systems with a single wiper, there’s a single moving part, the wiper motor.

If you hear a buzz, it could be a motor straining to move a jammed wiper transmission or a locked motor gear. If you hear a grind coming from the wiper area, it could be a stripped gear in either the motor, the transmission or where the wiper arm splines to the wiper motor in the rear. Don’t let the term transmission fill you with dread; it’s simply a term for a multi-lever set of arms and hinges that turn the circular motion of the wiper motor into the side to side motion of the wiper arms. It is also possible that the spline on the post of the front wiper arms is stripped.

Generally speaking, you can reach the motor and transmission by removing the wiper arms, all the screws that hold the cowl beneath the wiper arms and the weather stripping. Once exposed, you should be able to remove the motor from the transmission and check to see if the transmission is binding or if the motor is the culprit. Simply, replace the culprit, and reassemble.

If the problem is with the rear wiper system, getting to the wiper motor can be more difficult with far more trim to remove than with a front system. You may elect to consult your mechanic for help.

'97 sentra wipers stop at different places on the glass. Is it the motor that's faulty?

remove both wiper arms, turn off the ignition. Set one arm on the spindle at the desired postion. Test the sweep of the wiper with the ignition on. Check for looseness of the spindles ( wheel boxes ), refit the second wiper arm in the correct position, checking for looseness , if all seems ok retest with the ignition on.

Wiper arm slips on shaft after tighting on 1996 sentra

you may have a bad set of splines either on the wiper transmission arm that the wiper arm attaches to or the splines in the wiper arm were it makes contact with the attaching point that you tighten.look closely as if these splines are bad it won`t matter how tight it is it will slip.you may have to get a new wiper arm(or used)or replace the wiper transmission depending what you find.assuming of course you mean the wiper will not move at the speed it should be compared to the other arm

Does the wiper motor run? If you can hear the wiper motor run, the wipers arms may have disconnected from the wiper motor, you will have to remove the wiper arms, and the plastic cover to access the wiper motor, and check for damaged parts. If your wiper motor does nothing at all, you probably blew a fuse do to the resistance on the arms, refer to your owners guide for fuse panel, and fuse locations. hope this helps

sounds mechanical. remove the cowl and check for looseness where the arms mount to the motor by manually trying to move the wiper arms.I've seen the cam arm strip out and the bolts loosen up on the retainer that connects the arms to the cam.I've seen the wipers them selves strip out from freezing down to the windshield.

97 nissan sentra windshield wiper linkage arm disconnected

Most likely you will have to replace the wiper linkage from the center pivot to the left or drivers-side wiper pivot. The plastic piece in the linkage gets brittle over time and breaks down. To save a hassle in the future, replace both linkages. It should be under $20.00 for parts.
