In a 1997 Oldmobile Regency, where is the power steering pump located?

In plain site-- in front of the power brake booster--
on drivers side

Been there on all left hand drive vehicles for 70 years

inside the gas tank

Hello: Under the hood, passenger side look down on the back of the engine and you will see the power steering pump

Look at the side of the engine block above the oil pan just in front of fire wall.

POWER STEERING PUMP IS BELT DRIVEN PUMP LOCATED NEAR TOP ENGINE.LOOK FOR PUMP THAT HAS A RESERVOIR AND A CAP THAT READS POWER STEERING FLUID ONLY ALSO POWER STEERING PUMP HAS TWO POWER STEERING HOSE CONNECT TO RACK AND PINION.

power steering pump is located on the front of your engine where your serpentine belt is ,the belt runs the alternator,water pump.air conditioner compressor, and your ( power steering pump), most vehichles are equipped with yellow caps that are clearly marked as to what they are.remove the cap and it should have a small dip stick to verify maximum and minnmum amount of fluid.

Oil filters are sometimes buried behind the engine where you can't get to them, if it isn't right there in front of you, it is either behind the engine, or up front on the bottom with a skid pan hiding it. The power steering fluid and the brake fluid reservoirs are up top, in front of the driver between the engine and the fender, they should be clearly marked, so you don't put coolant in there, or motor oil. Check it out.

If you have the 3.8 liter the pump and container is located on the passenger side of the engine in the rear, it is under the altenator and is
difficult to get to. There are also the heater hoses above it that can burn you so you will need to check it cold. If you look with a flash light you should be able to see it.

you may have a bad sensor. the part is easy to replace and your local parts store may carry it.
