If it's the approach light under the mirror, the lens pops out to replace the bulb. If it's the turn signal bulb, then the mirror cover has to come off
The 2004 didn't have the turn signal bulb, so it would have to be the puddle light on the bottom. It's a 194 bulb.
The easiest way is to stick a thin/tiny screwdriver in under the mirror and push gently on the little tab to allow the lens/housing with the bulb pivot down and out. I find this easier to do with the rearview swiveled forward towards the front of the car.
If you shine a flashlight at the bottom edge of the mirror and into the housing, it will make sense. A small tab you push and the lens drops down. Replace bulb (pull straight out, push new one straight back in) and then push the assembly back in.
It does collect some dust, so you could rinse it off and use a compressor to blow it dry while you have it out.
Be careful with that little tab too, they break easily. If it does, just stick some hot-glue in behind the piece and let it dry then stick it back in.
