Jeep Headlights not working. High beam works

Assuming that the low beam bulbs are okay, there is a possibility that your dimmer switch that controls your low & high beams is malfunctioning. This part is on the steering column and may require some disassembly of the column cover to access.

1996 Jeep cherokee headlights quit working all of a sudden, brights will work but dimmer switch won't stay on. Tail lights work, park lights work, turn signals work, brake lights work.

did you chek you fuses because the head lights are a higher amp they generally have their own fuse

Jeep headlight problem

Check the relay for you headlights. It seems like you are only getting juice when in hi-beams are on and not lo-beams. Or maybe the lo-beam portion of you headlights are burned out. There are 2 filiments inside the light, one for hi and one for low.

Had the same problem on my 92....check under the hood on the drivers side,towards the front,there is a "junction box" with all of the lighting wires connecting from the switches to the lights.My wires were all corroded inside,so I cleaned the ends and bought a new box from the local electronic supply store.The problem has not come back.
