What is causing the dome light in my 2004 land rover discovery not to turn off when I turn the truck off and close the door?

I attempted to manually push the button to turn if off, but that doesn't work either. I'm afraid it will drain the battery.

Why doesn't the dome light manually shut off in my 2004 land rover discovery

most dome lights are controlled or actuated by a ground supply switch rather than a power supply switch therefore the problem can be in the switch at the door jamb or the latch mechanism inside the door or perhaps a bare wire in between the light and the door contacting ground.

Why does the interior dome light in my 2004 land rover discovery not turn off when I turn off the vehicle and close the door.

Most likely the switch itself. Try removing and cleaning it before doing anything more expensive

NAS 2004 Land Rover Discovery Door locking problem.

this is actually the internal DC motor which comes inside the door latch. Land Rover doesn't sell it separately. You need to buy the whole door latch to have this problem sorted out. or else you can buy the DC motor from me as I made a special order from a factory for those DC motors as they are common fault in most of new Land rover generation. each motor costs you $30 +shipping Regards..
