That is a very vague question... what do you mean? Do you want it to get better fuel mileage? Change driving habits, tune-up engine, properly inflate tires or even go to low friction tires and fluids/oils, remove any unneeded weight, duct-tape any seems on the front of the vehicle, avoid hills and rapid acceleration...

Really, there are many factors that can minutely help fuel mileage and/or range, but the most important factor is the driver. Sensible driving (which most people don't do) is the single greatest factor in fuel mileage. Sadly, SUVs (or any vehicle) is only going to get a certain range of fuel mileage, so don't expect more than 1-2 mpg difference.

Good luck!

Battery light & brake light flashes on & off. went to parts store & had battry & charging system checked. was told battery was bad , bought new one .problem still there not as bad...

You need to get a volt meter on it. Your battery should be around high 12 to 13 volts while not running, and increase a little without going over 14 1/2 volts running.

Battery went dead, charged it back up now it won't stay running and a red light with a key comes on

if the battery goes stone dead on these vehicles, your anti theft module (SKIS module) loses its programming. unfortunately, the only way to fix this is to have the vehicle towed to the dealer an reprogrammed. call your local dealer and consult them on their particular procedures. good luck!

Getting code p1361 on my 99 civic. what is the problem and how do you fix it?

Code P1361 = Intermittent Interruption In TDC 1 Sensor Circuit

Turns out Top Dead Center (TDC) sensor was bad. Yours is too.

This sensor in located behind the timing chain cover on my 2001 civic. You have to take the cover off to get to it. Honda dealer wanted $360 in labor to change the sensor. Because it was in the same the location Honda would have changed my timing chain for no extra labor charge. So I went to the Honda dealer and got the sensor ($56) and went to the auto parts store and got a timing chain, water pump, and new belts. Local mechanic changed all these parts for $160 in labor (others wanted $230). $130 for the sensor and timing chain and $30 more for the pump. I probably could have hacked that timing chain cover off myself but that is what thought would happen. A hack job. And it was time for a new chain anyway. 92 plus degrees outside and the civic is running fine.

Good luck (remember rated this post).

I put a glasspack on my 2005 f150 and when it gets above 3500 rpms it sputters and kinda seems like it continuously backfires and i dont gain speed it done this many time but ust once the check engine...

It called lack of back pressure in your exhaust system. The newer engines today are made to have certain back pressure to operate properly. As a general rule, you can enlarge the pipe diameter of your OEM exhaust system by 1/4- to 1/2-inch to increase your horsepower. However, any additional increase in pipe diameter is likely to decrease your performance; specifically, low end torque. You can fix this problem if you can find a speed shop to dyno-tune your F150 with the lower back pressure exhaust system you have buy changing your fuel injector timing and pulse duration. Good luck and keep me posted, your engine may running to lean at the higher RPM's so be careful not to burn out one of more of your valves. Thank you for using Fixya.

This is an ongoing problem with the 2005 subrau. Mine went out seven time in a period of three years. Traded it for a 2008. Take it back to the Subrau dealer or write to Subrau. If yoou raise enough hell they will replace the unit. They replaced mine seven times.

Only, it\'s not Er 66... it\'s (Er bb) which is a malfunction with your vacuum pump system. I truly hope this is the same concern you are asking about, if so I am happy I could help. If it is a different problem please let me know so I can look into this matter further. 1999 Suburban 4WD, Noise from the transfer case?

Your problem is similiar to mine . the web-site has been helpful. $2000.00 sounds way to much for repair on that vehicle with such high mileage. I went to a dismantler and bought a used transfer case for under $350.00. Did the labor myself with a little help. It's not too difficult if you have a some diy experience or ability. As your working on it stay with the web-site for install hints or go to autozone.com for repair diagrams.
Good luck have a good day.
