The only way to correctly diagnose what is going on is to have a diagnostic scan done, sounds like the pcm has gone into 'limp home' mode which restricts power to prevent damage to the powertrain

I have a 2002 mini cooper s. it overheated just for a minute but went back to normal temperature once I started moving. Also my car's fan continues to run or turns on after I turn off my car it has...

Low oil no. Low water yes simply check the water. I don't think the temperature sensor is bad. The problem is probably due to the car running hotter.

2005 mini cooper has loud humming noise from rear when driving above 40 mph. Any suggestions on what this could be

I had a similar issue and it ended up being a broken wheel bearing. I even ended up having two, one was broken on my front passenger side, and one broken on my rear driver side. The part costs about $280.00, but could cost around $400.00 with service repair. The noise of a broken wheel bearing can sound like a humming, and over time it becomes louder. The car can be driven with a broken wheel bearing, but doing so can eventually lead to other wheel/tire maintenance. MINI's endure this commonly due to their low profile to the ground. Here is a forum on further issues experienced, including the bearing, and efforts towards recalls. http://newmini.wordpress.com/2009/02/17/mini-cooper-power-steering-failure/#comment-884

My MINI '03 is screwed up

have you checked transmission oil?
I am not familar with MINI's but it sounds like either your transmission oil is low or is too thick (cold weather could do that) that the computer is safe gaurding you for destroying your transmission or you computers messed up.

Recommendation: get the car to a shop ASAP before you do serious damage.

Recommended mph in 4 wheel drive

50 MPH in 4WD don't exceed you ll burn the transfer case clutches. (Safely stay at 40, why chance it.)

Low 4WD 25 MPH is the max, I recommend no more that 15MPH

Burnt clutches in transferr case 1200 job at the dealer, includes new clutch pack and fluid and 3 days of work, one or two days if you are lucky depending on their work load. (Read your manual)

Mini one warning lights

This is the flat tire light. either your tires are low on pressure or the flat tire light button is stuck down. if your tires are low refill to same pressure I usually use 35 psi. then start the car stay parked. depress the flat tire button located either under the ebrake or just to the right of the ebrake. hold for 10 sec. then drive car for 5-10 min do not drive hard. drive on normal roads 25 -35 mph then drive on the highway. If the button is stuck find some kind of electrical cleaner and just keep trying to clean it till it no longer sticks down.
