Does the front control module on a 2003 town and country control the brake lamp switch output if so how do you replace it does it need to be recalculate it or not

SOURCE: Where is the Body Control Module located?

It is located on the back side of the underdash fuse box (junction block). You remove the lower steering column cover and knee blocker reinforcement. Then remove two plugs from the bottom of the bcm.
Remove the bolts holding the junction block to dash panel mounting bracket. Remove the junction block from the bracket. Remove screws holding the bcm to the jb. Slide the bcm downward to disengage guide studs on jb from channels on bcm mounting bracket
Remove bcm from jb.

SOURCE: locassion of output speed sensor on 2003 Town and Country

The input and output speed sensors look identical on the connector side. The one over the solenoid pack is the input, the one closer to the left frame rail or left front wheel is the output sensor. I hope this helps.

I work for a brake repair shop and trust me you are not alone.Enterprise and alot of other people bought the same van and had the same trouble.I hate to say but it doesnt stop there.About every 14 to 15 thousand miles you have to replace the front pads.As of now they dont have an upgrade,for instance ceramic pads, but I am sure they will very soon

Where is the body control module located on 2002 cadillac deville

The body control system consists of the following 3 modules:
• The Dash Integration Module (DIM)
• The Instrument Panel Module (IPM)
• The Rear Integration Module (RIM)
Each of the 3 body control modules integrate a number of functional systems under the control of a single module. Each module is connected to the Class 2 serial data circuit, many of the control functions are implemented by Class 2 messages.

I had to chang the engine computer on my 02 town and country. Do I have to take it to chrysler to get it reprogramed for my van?

the town and country has a PCM ( power control module, located in front to the battery ) and a FCM ( front control module located on the front of the relay center next to the battery ) if either module is replaced they need to be programed with a DRBIII, so you will need to see your dealer.

1992 lincol town car,no rear lights or brake lites, only turn signal and hazard lights work, front lights fine. And about the same time instrument cluster light went out.

The Park Lamps and Instrument Panel illumination lamps are controlled by the lighting control module. The problem could be either the headlamp switch or the Lighting control module. Most likely, the head lamp switch.
The most likely cause of the brake lamps not working would be a failed Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch. It could also be caused by the multifunction switch. To find out if it is the BPP, check for power at the BPP switch. One terminal has a Light Green and Red (LG/R) wire and the other has a Plain Light Green (LT GN) wire. The LG/R wire should be hot at all times. The LT GN wire should be hot only when the pedal is pressed down.

If there is no power at all, there is probably a blown fuse at fuse #10 (20 Amp) in the Central Junction Box (CJB) located uder the left side of the dash. If this fuse is blown, you have a short circuit between the CJB and the BPP switch.

If there is power only on the LG/R wire even with the pedal pressed, then replace the BPP switch.

If there is power on both sides of the BPP then check fuses #20 (7.5 Amp) and #22 (20 Amp) also locatedin the CJB.

If fuse #20 is blown, you have a short between the BPP and the Lighting Control Module. If fuse #22 is blown, you could have a short anywhere from the BPP through the Multifunction Switch all the way back to the brake lamps themselves.

The Brake lamps, Turn Signals, and Park Lamps all share the same ground, so if the Turn Signals are working, it is not likely a ground problem.

I have a 2003 Chrylsler Town & Country. Yesterday I replaced the brake light switch and today it won't move out of park.

The brake light switch is not installed or adjusted properly, the shift interlock cable gets energized by a circuit through the brake lamp switch. This allows the shifter to be moved from park.

Front passenger window on town & country 2000 is this fuse

  1. windows are controlled by a body module (computer)
  2. remove door panel to check for pwr and ground at the motor while operating the switch.
  3. if either signal is missing
  4. disconnect the battery for 30 mins.
  5. reconnect and attempt operation of window.
  6. do you hear mtr running bgut no window movement?
  7. if so replace window regulator
  8. if not a scan tool to interface with the body computer will be required to check switch and body module for output

How to remove, and install a brake light switch in a 2003 chrysler town & country van

you need to lay on your back and follow the brake pedal up so far and you will see the brake switch attached to it,you will need to pull out a large hair pin clip,and wiggle the master cylinder rod and the switch off together,

Exterior Lighting The exterior lighting outputs are zone controlled by the front electronic module (FEM) and rear electronic module (REM) in respect to the front exterior lights being controlled by the FEM and the rear exterior lights being controlled by the REM. An additional function of the lighting system is a lamp outage function which provides the indication to the driver if certain exterior bulbs are not functioning. With a bulb inoperative, the FEM or REM will send a message to the instrument cluster and message center (if equipped) which will in turn indicate to the driver the lamp is inoperative with a lamp out indicator (with the message center a message will be displayed). To provide complete input and output functionality, each exterior lamp feature will be described individually. All exterior lighting is powered by the switched system power (SSP) feature (refer to Switched System Power[SSP]). A failure of all or any of the SSP features will cause inoperative exterior lighting. When diagnosing exterior lighting, it is essential to determine if all related symptoms and DTCs are controlled by the SSP feature.
Stoplamps Brake lighting is controlled by the REM. The brake pedal position (BPP) switch is hardwired to the REM. When the brake pedal is depressed, the BPP switch will input information to the REM. Then, the REM will process the information and output to the left, right, and high mounted stoplamps. Only the left and right stoplamps will provide lamp outage indication.
The vehicle's electronic functions are divided into zones. The FEM controls the front portion of the vehicle and the REM controls the rear portion of the vehicle. These systems rely heavily on the SCP communication network in order to transmit and receive signals. As a technician it is very important to understand:
  • where the input (command) originates from
  • All information (messages) necessary in order for a feature to operate
  • which module(s) receive(s) the input or command message
  • does the module which received the input (message), control the output of the feature, or does it output a message over the SCP communication network to another module
  • which module controls the output of the feature
Switched System Power (SSP)
The SSP is invoked by both the FEM and REM. This function removes power from relays that provide power to the exterior lamps, interior lamps, and power door locks. This is only accomplished when both the FEM and the REM are in sleep mode. The sleep function of the FEM and REM places the modules in sleep mode when the ignition switch is in the OFF position, and no wake up (inputs) signals occur for 30 minutes. The module will not sleep if the parking lamps or the hazard lamps are active. The following relays are controlled by the SSP function: SSP1, SSP2, SSP3, and SSP4. When either the FEM or REM are not in sleep mode, all SSP relays will be energized. When energized, each relay will supply power to multiple features/functions. For additional information, go to the SSP Index for diagnosis and testing of SSP related issues. Refer to Headlamps .
Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the stoplamps.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
