Wow a trooper , USA? TOD?

"torque on demand" and "auto" in the center where the transfer ...
first check all fuses
then scan it,
that is right you must scan the PCM first.
and report all DTCs, if that is too hard.
get any shop on earth scan it. first.
most do this for free. so.... do it.

Why is my 4L light flashing?

using 4wd on dry pavement. 2003 Rodeo !
part time is for dirt or ice roads only.
so are you using 4L on pavement, yes, then dont if car is part time.
post your vin or tell what 4wd system you have.
do you have TOD option?, Torque on demand.
so do post what wheels (tires) are touching, in 4L.
if in 4L. now.
we cant guess road surfaces...
if attempting PT on dry roads, stop doing so.
or you will windup the driveline and damage it.

i cant find the options list on Rodeos. seems 2wd or part time.
here is how TOD works, and is totally different that PART TIME.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qfLAAGkaSI

i think this is not an option for Rodeo. but specs are weak... IMO
see the 4 wheels here, this TOD,

Tod light on

If the light blinks and then goes out while starting the vehicle, you are fine. It is a self-check for diagnostics. If the light turns on and stays on, even when not moving, then you have a system fault and need to take it to a dealership (that is, if you could find one to fix it...) If the light goes on and then goes off while driving, and you are in a low-traction environment (like heavy rain, or snow, for example) then you are fine. The computer is just telling you it is doing its Torque-On-Demand thing. As a helpful hint, might be a good idea to read your owner's manual.

TOD Check light? My check light under the TOD keeps flashing on and off. Please help me what should I do?

Have a local shop or auto parts store perform a "Fault Scan" - Most good auto parts stores will do it for you for FREE. They read the codes, print out what is wrong and reset your lights.

I have a 99 isuzu trooper (jackaroo) 3.5 liter 4wd with torque on demand my jssue is the check rear wheel's lights blinks green then red if I put it in 4wd the rear wheel light indicator gose green the...

sounds like a sensor - when did it start - if just cranked up one day and bam it is there - sounds like either a brake wear indicator issue - if they are connected in those - or a fluid level change in the rear end or transfer case - look for leaks and check the brake pads or shoes

Tod light on

spark plugs???

The TOD dictates that 1 of 3 things may have gone faulty: clutch in the transfer case, TOD computer, Speed Sensor on the transfer case

The clutch in the transfer case almost never goes bad and the computer is reliable too... it's common for the speed sensors to fail though... you should check that and hook it up to an OBDII reader to see what the exact code is... or you can test the speed sensors with a test light....

My rear wheel TOD lights are lite up green, I cant figure out how to turn it off

That is perfectly normal for when the TOD is not engaged. When it is engaged the fronts will light up according to how much torque is being sent to them. As long as the "CHECK" light on your TOD display is off, you are fine.

Check light on dash panel under the torque on demand diagram and where do i add transmission fluid

I have the same problem with my '98 Trooper - the TOD light, that is. Took it to a good shop for diagnosis. They said the TOD sensor was bad and it would cost abot $480 for the part. We were looking at a hefty bill, so decided to do without TOD for now. Manual 4WD still works fine. They said that Isuzu's arrogance that the transmission wouln't leak leaves us with a tiny 1/4" check port to fill through. We got concerned enough, and had over 180,000 miles, that we took it to a transmission shop and had it flushed and refilled correctly. To be honest, we now have 230,000 miles and don't really see any ATF leaks.

TOD

TOD light blinking means the TOD is sending a fault code. have the dealer check it out.

You can switch from 2WD to TOD-HI, at any speed below 50 MPH.

If you want to switch to TOD-LOW, you have to stop the car, put the transmission in Neutral, then turn the dial to TOD-LOW. When you switch out of LOW, do the same.
