Location of trans speed sensor 3 pin location 2004 solar v6 automatic p0500 speed sensor trouble code

I located the other 2 trans (2 pin sensors they are magnetic pick up and measure like 560 ohms they list for like 40.00 ) supposedly there is a 3 pin sensor that has a notch that would be rotated by the transmission having difficulty locating it, see http://www.1aauto.com/toyota-solara-vehicle-speed-sensor/mo-c/401-51 1 a auto STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS SC171 OE # 8318112030 list is like 185.00

im trying to decode that too, the sensors
are called, C3 counter gear sensor, and Turbin T3 sensor
but the book keeps changing names in the book.

i think it means, counter gear shows correct RPM
but the turbine gear sensor T3 is dead.
while in gear. is too hard for them to say. so i said it.
and my guess, moving,
after all transmission slip moving
in fact i can scan your car and prove that
i scan it in park, then indrive, no moving
got 500s, or are 500 happening flogging engine.

but the ECU signal is either dead for turbine sensor or is way too slow. see incongruity from 300+ rpm on counter gear.

500 means dead, not intermittant.
i looked at all codes for turbine.

so my best guess (no real fsm only alldata)
is Turbine is the clutch sensor. (input rpm to trans-clutch)
and counter gear is tail shaft sensor.? (output speed)
so the front clutch sensor is dead
or being grounded out, or is not connected, (rusty conns?)

Most FSM made do a poor job, at showing possible bad parts.

here is better
  1. the sensor is weak or dead
  2. the sensor connections are bad.
  3. the sensor, signals do not arrive at the PCM /TCM, due to bad wires, or anything on that line shorting that line out.
  4. better (yes?, this is electronics) no a parts swap game.

if the car drives ok then the trans does not slip.
the TCM sees both ends and can detect, bad sensors or gross slip.
i think it means bad sensor. in this case only.

what does this mean?
  1. having difficulty locating it
can buy one, find one, can't insert it, or?

How do I fix the code P0500

This is a vehicle speed sensor to fix this you need to replace the sensor located in the top of the transmission (on the top of the gearbox)

P0171 OBD-II Trouble Code

Technical Description

System Too Lean (Bank 1)

Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.
Symptoms

You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration.
Causes

A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.

Possible Solutions

Possible solutions include:

In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling

Trouble code p0500

P0500 is Vehicle speed sensor A, Check owners manual for location of sensor. Check the wire harness in the jeneral area of this sensor for any vissible damage. Replace sensor if required. then have the code cleared from the computers memory. Good Luck. From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta, Canada.

Engine code PO500 / PO501 /PO529 for santa fe 2004

P0500 and po501 are error codes indicating that no signal is being received from the speed sensor. he speed sensor is located on the output of the transmission and its job is to measure the speed of the output shaft. Check the continuity of the wire from the sensor to the ECU. Check that the connection is securely attached and that the pins are free of dirt and corrosion. To check the function of the speed sensor: If the socket has two pins it is probably a magnetic sensor and one pin is ground and the other should have an output AC voltage in region 0.2 to 2 volts. If the socket has three pins it is probably a hall effect sensor with one pin at reference voltage (5 volts), one pin at ground and the third with a a DC voltage in region of 0.5 to 1.5 volts.
The other code, P0529, indicates that the air circulation fan inside the car is giving intermittent performance, this could be due to warn motor brushes or a loose connector.

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
