My rear break lights on my 2007 hyundai sonata are not working. But the top middle one is. I checked the fuses, etc, but of course it's not the fuses because the middle light still works. help!
yep. that was in. silly me. i just assumed it wasn't the bulbs because both of the back lights burned out at once. at the police officer that informed me of it suggested a short circuit or something. thanks tho!yep. that was in. silly me. i just assumed it wasn't the bulbs because both of the back lights burned out at once. at the police officer that informed me of it suggested a short circuit or something. thanks tho!

The fuse is normally a parallel connection to the rear brake lamp and so if this is not working then the connection to lamp assembly is not open.
Sometimes the wires can open in the section and if you are able to trace the wires from the hood lamp it will be seen to be connecting to the rear section.
Find the break and join the connection , or loop from the rear brake lamp circuit.
could be the light itself, the red brake wire that comes off the rear brake lights that feeds this stop light, sometimes things get shoved against this wire and its cut,or if it splits off in the frame,it could also be broken here too
Check the connection at the brake light switch for power comming out to the barke lights, try feeding power to the brake lights manualy using a jumper wire from your fuse box or battery, unplug the wire from the switch and put power to the harness if everything is OK the brake lights will work, then you need a new switch.
there is a tsb for the brake switch in 06 sonatas. it must be adjusted or replaced by dealership. is your check engine light on, if so its probably code p0504
