Remove the black connector to pcm . Check for corrosion pins . Then inspect the plug end for corrosion. I found moisture seep by the weather pack seal and wire on older vehicles.

SOURCE: wont always start

Did anyone check the clutch interlock switch? It's possible the position is out of adjustment. My 2008 SRT4 is right at the bottom. If you don't push the clutch ALL the way down, it won't start.

SOURCE: 2001 dodge grand caravan stalls

Check the sensors on the throttle body. There is a sensor that controls air to fuel ratio. If that sensor is bad then the car will run and then stall out while in drive. I had the same problem when it was cold outside last winter. If you dont want to dish out the money without knowing if it is that part at fault or not then start the van pop the hood and located the throttle body. Place your hand on the sensors and give them a little shake and then make sure they are plugged in all the way. You could also turn the van off and unhook the sensor clean the connectors and plug it back in. That should do the trick and if it doesnt stall anymore then I would replace those sensors if I was you. One more thing. If your giving the sensors a tug while the car is running and you hear it going to stall you could located the gas pedal cable and give it a rev or two by hand so it doesnt stall out and turn off. By the way. You van isnt over heating at all is it?

2 beeps when stopping or turning corners 1999 Durango also message check gauges. sometimes fuel shows empty when fuel tank is full and gauges shut down. restart corrects gauge problem

sounds like pcm. When this happens, does it restart right away or do you have to wait? If you have to wait, try wiggling the 3 connectors on the pcm ( located on the inner right fender under the hood). If you do this with the key still on, you should hear the bing again and the fuel gage should come up again. If this works you need a new or rebuilt pcm.

Dodge Durango Won't Start, Turns over, NO BUS on instrument cluster

1998 - 1999 Dodge Durango 3.9L
2000 - 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L
1998 - 2000 Dodge Durango 5.2L
1998 - 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9L

The PCM has 3 connectors plugged into it. Try wiggling each connector and listen for a clicking sound, starting with the connector furthest from the front of the Durango, and the middle connector with a white top.

If this doesn't help, replace your PCM. The PCM (power control module) can get hot, causing a short or broken circuit inside the module. Replacing the module will fix the problem. If your truck dies randomly when it's hot outside, but will start back up after it cools down, this is probably the problem.

2003 grand Cherokee cranks over and will not start. Changed the cps already. The fuel gauge reads empty, empty light comes on and circle with key and line threw it is on dash board. When it does start...

You will have to check each connector on the PCM for moisture and the wires for shaving. Fuel quantity info comes from the PCM via the PCI data bus. Moisture in one of the connectors could short the data bus out and the engine will not start and indicators go to zero.

No bus on instrument panel of a 99 dodge durango

pcm. the way to check it is, when it dies, open hood and shake the 3 connectors on the pcm which is on the drivers side inner fender under the hood. if you do this with the key still on, you should hear a bing and the gauges should come back on. That means power is back and you should be able to start the vehicle again. if that is the case, it is a bad pcm and you can find someone online who you can send it to to get the pcm rebuilt.

Have replaced ECM ' fuel pump and given it a tune up, but still wont run smooth.Ive also replaced idle sensor ,trans speed sensor and now it starts hard idles for ashort time and stalls. Then when it does...

That sounds exactly like a problem with the PCM. (Powertrain Control Module)

I have heard of aftermarket stereos and even the passenger side air-bag switch causing similar problems, and a "No Bus" message means that the PCM is not communicating with certain modules, and the dash lights and gauges can become erratic and the vehicle performance will be affected.

The next time that the vehicle acts up try wiggling the connector at the PCM and see if it makes any difference, and also you can dis-connect the battery, and dis-connect the wiring connector to the PCM for three minutes and then re-connect the PCM and then the battery and see how the truck runs, if it changes how the vehicle runs and the dash lights and gauges are normal with no "No Bus" message, then you will need to replace that PCM.

Where is the asd relay on a 2001 Dodge Durango 4.7L? My Durango ran fine then would not start at all it cranks but won't turn over, We have tested the fuses and other relays and they are all working fine,...

The PCM has 3 connectors plugged into it. Try wiggling each connector and listen for a clicking sound, starting with the connector furthest from the front of the durango, and the middle connector with a white top.
If this doesn't help, replace your PCM.

My 2000 Dodge durango won't start.

How old is the battery? is it going on close to four years? if your not sure i"d change the battery..but if the battery is good eg; dome light on bright, Headlights work, radio good...then it sounds like it might be the alternator.
when your instrument panel says no bus, i'm thinking they mean electrical bus. I think that's what that means...i been caught on the road when the alternator light comes on and then the radio starts to fade and lights start to fade and the care start sputtering and lurching...once the alternator goes... your running on pure battery power and that will usually only last for about 15 minutes enough to get you off the highway...but if your in the desert and you pull off the road and wait for a half hour the battery will recharge and start your car again and you have another 15min to hurry up and get somewhere...this is called battery reserve...now if you've drivin your car on the battery for a long time like this its bad for the battery and you might still need to purchase a new one. If you put another known good battery perferably 600 to 900 cold cranking amps( the higher the better) and it starts right away quickly take a look at the dash and see if the bus or alternator light goes out...if its on then thats telling you that the alternator is bad and eventually that battery that you just put in will end up like the last one.

it would be best if you took it to a dealer and left a mechanic take it home over night, that way he can have the Chrysler drb hooked up when the problem presents its self.

Dodge Dakota no Bus, code 940 on Gauge!

I have a 2003 Durango 4.7 and had the same problem
The no bus code on the odometer means a faulty connection to your PCM, try turning the key to try to start it, then waiting 20-25 minutes and trying again, if it starts after that, then you need a new PCM, which is what happened to me. If it doesnt start, try waiting an hour or longer then trying it, also try replugging-in the cables to the PCM, when you look at the front of your engine, the PCM should be on the extreme left with several cables and a bracket connected.
Hope this helps!
