What are the effects of a faulty crank sensor on a nissan QG18 engine

what a great question!
no year told, no country , no car told just raw engine
QG18 comes in many types QG18DD,,1999 to 04
QG18DE, 1999 to 2007 QG18DEN is the natural gas version?

lacking all key facts.
I go GENERIC (full bore)

the answer is super simple..
causes spark misfire. (and scanned PCM see P03xx errors DTC)

loss of engine horse power. and wasted fuel.
or engine dead. fully and no spark at ALL.

why worry it at all.??? if scans are clean this is it if CKP does not trip CKP errors DTC

must we guess all of these and if yes why?
and more,

The QG18DE is used in the following vehicles:
the CKP and CMP sensors are the base line inputs for all spark and fuel injections and timing and timing advance of spark
if spark dies the PCM cuts all fueling dead( no crash&burns)

My 2004 NISSAN Almera Tino manual starts but when I accelerate, the fire goes off.

Question edited for full 'year make model'.
Question moved to Nissan.

You need a mechanic with a scan tool to see why. A pro grade scanner can record what happens at the moment it shuts off.

It appears to be a known issue.

93 year Nissan maxima auto. Took battery out 6 mths ago.put new battery in today the motor turns over but doesn't want to start

  1. If you parked it 6 months ago there is a chance you;have chewed on wiring if it's outside by a field.
  2. make sure fuses are good, i know but (check anyway)
  3. does it have sufficient fuel to start ???
  4. if you parked the car with very low fuel left in tank , you may have a corroded fuel pump (internal tank pump)"trust me when i tell you this can happen"
  5. make sure no one played any tricks on ya under the hood !!!, good luck

Engine turns over, but why won't it start?

This is a fuel problem. Make sure the emergency fuel shut off is not engaged. From there check the fuel pump, fuel relay and the fuel filter. Lastly check fuel pressure.

2000 elantra cut out will not restart

Check the fuel pump fuse. If you are lucky, the problem is just a burnt fuse.

1994 Nissan Sentra

Get a Chiltons/Haynes manual for your make/model/year and go to the troubleshooting section. It sounds like the same thing my little rabbit did years ago. Turns out it needed new fuel filters and the fuel tank flushed. The gunk kept impeding fuel flow. Didn't do good things for the fuel pump either.
