turbo is indicated
turbine blade actuator not working
loose turbo hoses
dump valve not producing pressure
the EGR has to be connected as the ECM requires a report as to adjust exhaust gas back to the inlet manifold
I don't know why you were tapping on the gas tank, but, if you suspect that the fuel pump is at fault, and you can hear it running when the key is turned, take off the air horn or the turbo, whatever you have on there that you can squirt a little gas in the throttle to see if it will start, that will eliminate a lot of trouble. If it fires right up, I would blame the pump. If it doesn't, it must be something else. Check the oil, I know it sounds crazy, just do it. Then see if you are getting spark. Only 2 things prevent a car from starting, if the computer is working, that is gas and spark. Check it out.
Have you had your mass air meter checked or replaced? This is the unit attached to the air intake hose behind your air filter. It senses the air temperature, speed, density, etc... and adjusts the fuel/air ratio to keep the vehicle running at "peak" performance. Also, check your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) it can also cause the problem you speak of. The TPS adjusts your engine speed/idle etc. and also compensates for hot/cold changes etc. This is roughly a $35.00 part and in most cases usually an easy fix.
you probably have alot of air in your line. i would fill it with a high test gas and park it for 4 or 5 hours at idle. this will purge the air out of the line.
I Would Suggest That You Complete A Engine Cylinder Leak Down Test.....(not A Compression Test But A Leak Down Test) this will tell you if you have internal problems....possible worn rings or a burnt valve(s) I would use a smoke machine to check for vacuum leaks also. Good Luck
You will need to change the o2 sensors, your car is running in limp mode (giving to much gas)
Most common problem if you need additional help
hope this helps
