Andrae, If it is just the right rear signal not working, re check the bulb and wires to the socket, signal bulb should have 2 filaments. When you put emergency flasher on do both tail lights flash, . "I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Check out some of my other posts if you need more tips and info."
you have a fuse box under the dash and a fuse/relay box under the hood. Althou many cars will place the flasher/blinker relay under the dash near the brake pedal, and still, some are behind the radio (farther back and close to the floor) here is the relay you are looking for.
You can turn on the hazard flashers and listen for the ticking sound the flasher makes. Follow the sound and look for a small round or square piece. (the flasher) You should have one for blinkers and one for hazards. This flasher is most often the problem. Relay may be in the area if not under hood.
There is normally two fuse panels one under the driver side dash somewhere or by the driver door at the dash, and one under the hood. Probably would be the one in the dash but really sounds like your motor went out.
Under the dash, above the emergency brake pedal on the left side. May need a flash light to see but there is a couple fuses and your flasher there. Just pull the flasher out and push in a new one. The orientation is close to the fuse box. If you have your diver's door opened, on the side of the dash you'll see a small compartment that houses fuses. Looking from this angle you can't see the flasher but it is to the left of this fuse box. Can only access from under the dash.
the relay box is on the driver side, next to the battery. remove cover to find fuses and relay. it's on the bottom right if you look at it from the driver side fender. in the cap, you should find the diagram of the location of every fuse/relay located in there.
you have a power distrubition center under the hood. on one of the fender wheels. and interior box usually is on the driver side.. open door and look at side of dash in door jam if not look right under the dash driver side...
the flasher should be up under the dash on the driver side, you should turn on the flasher that works if there is one and you will hear the click of it, once you hear it pull the one next to it that is not clicking, if that is the one to change, and replace it there. it should be in the area of your parking brake release.
also if it is that a blinker is not working or a flasher, check the fuse in the fuse panel, or also check the relay under the hood on the driverside in the relay box.
A Mechanic told me my switch was broken, but the switch was working fine, the lights just stopped flashing. After some research and consulting with a male friend who knows more about this than I, we discovered it was only the turn signal flasher -- a $16.00 part. On the 2000 model, it's located under the dash, on a separate fuse panel I didn't even know was there. It's to the left of the steering column and right behind the main fuse box, but you can only get to it by going up under the dash. The green one is a little hard to get to, but that's the one for the hazard lights. Its easy to see with a good shop light. It's 1" by 1" ish. The turn signal flasher is below the green one. It's black and a little smaller, and much easier to get to. You simply unplug it and plug the new one in. Voila! There are other fuses on this panel -- I'm not sure what they go to, but I intend to find out so I don't waste money replacing parts I don't need to.
