Every possibility. If you hear air noise on brake application or the engine stalls with the brakes applied then the booster is suspect and should be replaced.

02 Toyota echo engine revs up brakes harden fail to engage idling at 40 mph

seems , but can not understand that post lacking periods.
the booster is cracked and sucking vaccum to the engine
..
the brake poster is vacuum powered
but must not leak if does leak the causes and illegall air flow
to the engine main air supply and causes engines to race fast RPM at idle.
now you know why.
even the hose to it can be bad or fell off.
but i bet the booster diaphragm inside is cracked.
the service manual shows the leak down test on boosters all do
.and if it leaks it is bad.
end story.

MOTOR CUT OUT , OR WONT IDLE AT STOP STREETS OR ROBOTS oIL LIGHTS START FLICKERING AND ENGINE STALLS

if this is happening when the foot is on the brake, then it is possible that the brake booster is leaking air and running the engine too lean.
check by idling without the foot on the brake

1991Buick skylark stall when hitting brakes

Check the brake booster. It is connected to the inlet manifold as it uses the vacuum coming from the inlet manifold. A leaking diaphragm might cause to much air entering the inlet manifold. Start the engine and let it idle - check that it doesn\'t idle to low, if so adjust first - step hard on the brake pedal as during an emergency stop. If the engines stalls it is the brake booster.

Brake power booster and what it will cause if its going out

Only get a vacuum leak, if the booster check valve
failed & may effect the idle, not sure if it would be enough
to stall out the motor
What is the emergency switch? Parking Brake warning light?
That wouldn't have any effect on the engine idle

Stalls when turn lights on or hit brakes

Check the plugs to make sure they aren't fouled. Then maybe the fuel pump. If it dies when you hit the brakes, that's electrical. I'd say it's the fuel pump, filter, etc.
When plugs are fouled, it probably wouldn't want to start, and brakes aren't electrical and the fuel pump isn't real likely either.
Actually when you step on the brakes, it takes power from the battery or alternator to run the pump for the master cylinder on the brakes. (not true)
Doing so will cause your car to stall if the idle is too low. Turn the idle up and see if it happens again.
Same thing with the in gear driving. Putting the car in gear will drop the rpm to half or less than what it is already.
The brakes have no pump. If they are power brakes, then it has a booster (and the booster uses engine vacuum, not electrical power) you can't adjust the idle speed in a FIed car. When you put the car in gear, the rpm should stay steady since the FI system should adjust for loads on the engine (turning the a/c on, putting car in gear, turning on lights etc) Do a tune up and go from there. By the sounds of it though, this is a lock-up torque convertor problem. The convertor lock is stuck on so the torque convertor is "solid" when you put it in gear.
If it is not an engine problem, it should be a problem with the transmission. When the gearshift is in drive, in this case, the gears get jammed with each other, causing the whole engine/drivetrain to lock up, stalling the engine. You should get a repair as soon as possible.
Either your power brake assist booster has a bad check valve in it causing a huge vacuum leak when you step on the brake (Vacuum leaks lean out the fuel/air mixture causing stalling) or you have an 'engine protect' sensor that kills the ignition/fuel pump when the oil level's too low and it's either got crud in it from running the oil too low or has otherwise malfunctioned

Replaced vacuum hoses and need diagram of what hoses go where from the intake. Call starts then stalls unless given throttle. Then idles high but run fine at constant rpms but lags on take off.

Check the brake booster. Start the car and then switch it of and the brake should be normal. The diaphargm inside might be broken or there is a air leak somwhere.

The engine is sometimes loping when idling but other times it is fine when i hit the brakes to stop some times the engine will idle down like its going to stall then way up and actually lurch the car...

Hi, you may have a torn brake booster diaphram. Try disconnecting the brake booster and plugging the hose with a rag. Don't drive it without the booster, but set the parking brake and see how it runs in the driveway. If this clears up the problem, replace the booster.

It appears that your brake booster system has a major vacuum leak which is causing the engine to go lean and stall. Check the hose between the intake manifold and the brake booster. It may be cracked or loose causing outside air to enter the hose when the brake is applied.

Vehicle engine seems to stall at low revs or approaching a stop, been doing that last few days. Now brakes do not seem to have any power assistance. Any thoughts, think this is now not fuel related and...

check for a vacuum leak... the brake booster could be bad and need replacing.
check the vacuum hose that runs from the brake booster to the manifold. Sometimes they crack, leak, or get partially disconnected...the gromet on the booster itself as well.
Good luck...i hope this helps.

Stalling usually when applying brakes

This sounds like a vacuum leak. or mass air flow sensor
