While cranking my 2013 Ford Fiesta acts like it is starving for gas. It eventually starts after about 3 tries. Any thoughts?

Just done this once so far.

Turn the key on and listen to see if you hear the fuel pump run and then shut off. If so it should be ok. Check your fuel filter or replace it.
If it is just hard to start of a morning, it could be the MAP sensor. (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor). When they go bad, the engine is difficult to start. I hope this points you in the right direction. Good Luck.

SOURCE: my truck acts like it is starving for gas

Hi,
Replace the fuel filter as the fist action. Often this is charged for - but not done on a service, and if blocked will starve the engine. Just done mine after 3 years - would not believe the cr@p that was in it.

Try again.

If not much difference, check the fuel pump in the tank, and any cables to it.
If this fails, the engine needs to **** the fuel more - and can lead to starvation problems too.

Change the air filter every year, as this is cheap and will give you better MPG anyway.

SOURCE: Ford F-150 starting problem

replace the fuel regulator, its about a $50.00 part and takes about 15 minutes to change, but first relieve the fuel pressure and you can do it in a couple of ways, hitting the fuel pump shut off swith(inertia switch)until the red button pops up,but remember to reset it when done, located either behind the passengers side kick panel or under the carpet in the middle under the dash then start it to run it out of gas which there will still be a little bit in the lines,...or drain it at the valve to check for pressure it looks like a valve stem for a tire.

SOURCE: diesel ford will crank but wont start acts like

If you have the 6.0 ltr diesel, then check the bowl where the 2nd fuel filter is, see if there is fuel in the bowl, if not then either your fuel pump which is on the frame under the driver's side in the water seperator/ heater has gone bad, or your filters could be bad, or the fuse to the fuel pump or the pump shut off switch which is located on the side panel at your feet on the passengers side, there is a reset button, make sure it has not popped and press it down, hopefully this helps, I had the same prob.

I have a manual 05 tiida. The problems I am having are the starting of the car can take 5-10 mins at times to crank over and also when driving in lower gears the car acts like it is starving for fuel

Several GM cars of mine had check valve in fuel filter. I stopped the delay in cranking by changing the fuel filter. I think Nissan fuel pressure regulator act as a check valve. The issue of it taking a while to crank sounds like the gas may be running back to the tank and you have to pump the air out of the line before it cranks. Just a thought to look at, fuel pressure regulator.

99 ford ranger, idles rough till it warms up,then runs good. Hard to start after it gets hot, it acts as if it is starved for fuel. Once it does crank it runs fine.

First thought: Check the idle air control valve, or whatever its Ford equivalent is. Sometimes these start to stick and cause the rough early idle that smooths out later.

Gas nozzle continues to shut off when filling the gas tank.

The problem is the NVLD module. Its a known problem with Fords. Once it is replaced, the problem immediately goes away.

1997 contour 4 cyl cranks but wont start acts like fuel starved

If it acts like it's starved for fuel, it probably is related to that. I would check first though. If you have a carb, you can spray starter fluid inside and then crank it. If it tried to start, then it is fuel related. Probably a fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel relay, or perhaps a fuse. If it doesn't start for a second, it could be many more things. If so, you should check your ignition system, spark plugs, wires, distributor, coils, ect. If your battery and starter are fine, start looking to see if your car is getting fuel. Hope this helps. Being broke down sucks!

My truck acts like it is starving for gas

You need to check spark plugs/wires/distributor cap.
Also good idea to check/replace fuel filter/air filter. It might be also bad fuel pump.
Good Luck
