There are couplings that hook the manifold to the exhaust.... flex pipes.. about the size of large can of soup... they allow the engine to flex when you punch the gas.... they meet on both sides right underneath the bottom of the engine.... Google "audi a6 flex pipe" you' ll see them on ebay..... its the braided part... Go anywhere but MIDAS! to have it fixed... about $225 per side... That's what my problem was...... good luck
There are diagnoctic test forwhen the scan tool can not communicate with the engine PCM (computer). I know Ford's process, but not AUid. I would try googling "Audi A6 won't scan" and see if there is an audi owner group that has the answer.
It's almost always never the PCM, only one in a thousand is ever bad.
It could be as simple as replacing an idle air valve, or could be something electronic. Really needs to be hooked up to a machine to be properly diagnosed.
This should be plug and play. If it is not working, check your fuse box for a blown fuse. My radio has a CD/CDC button to swithc between in car CD and CD Changer.
