Try this: pull off the battery cable and let the charge drain for 30 min or so. Unlock your doors with the key, then reconnect the cable and let everything reset. You could also pull relay #14 (see photo) which is for the anti theft system. Or the fuse.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 Volvo

  • Try using the FOB remote to disable. The main way your issue is fixed is by putting the proper key in the door to unlock the doors TWO times in a row should reset the alarm too. If you put the proper key into the ignition and start the car the alarm should reset. You can try pooping the hood and look for the alarm box. It will have a power feed and a ground wire connected to it. Remove them and re-hook the up.

So the driver's side door won't lock and unlock with the key...I had to crawl through my trunk and unlock the door, so my alarm when off and now my car won't crank...

If your driver's side door won't lock and unlock with the key and you had to crawl through the trunk to unlock the door, causing the car alarm to go off and preventing the car from starting, here are some steps you can take:
  1. Disarm the alarm: If your car alarm is still going off, try disarming it using your key fob or by unlocking the driver's side door with your key.
  2. Check the battery: If the car won't start, check the battery to make sure it has a good charge. If the battery is dead, try jump-starting the car or replacing the battery.
  3. Check the door lock mechanism: If the driver's side door won't lock and unlock with the key, it's possible that there may be an issue with the door lock mechanism. Check to make sure that the lock is not stuck or damaged, and that the key is not worn or damaged.
  4. Check the fuse: If the door lock mechanism is not working, check the fuse for the power door locks. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one.
  5. Take the car to a professional: If you are unable to resolve the issue on your own, it may be necessary to take the car to a professional mechanic or locksmith for further diagnosis and repair.
Remember to always follow safety guidelines when working with cars and electrical systems, and to consult your car's owner manual for specific instructions and information.

Alarm in my 2002 gmc Sonoma goes off when I open the door with the key. Lost remote. Can I disable the alarm without messing other things up?

Door Key Switch
The BCM monitors the door key switches in order to disarm the CTD system. When the lock cylinder turns in order to unlock the door, the switch grounds the disarm input to the BCM.
The key lock input to the BCM is probably missing , BCM doesn't see it . So it think's your breaking into the vehicle. Did you try the passenger door to see if it will disable the alarm .
The BCM - body control module ! Electronic -computer !

Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Does Not Disarm with Key Lock

The factory service repair manual has a 23 step diagnostic procedure . An you would need a factory scan tool to find the correct fix.
Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
With a scan tool, observe the door key switch parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) security data list.
Does the scan tool display INACTIVE?

How do I turn off the alarm on my 2002 jeep wrangler tj?

is this just alarm , and or the immoblizer SKIM problems, why not post the symptoms, or if opr guide missing.
all answers USA spec cars......
all answers STOCK cars, not hacked or with non Jeep parts.

the SKIM can not be defeated.
if still stock is it? with stock alarm. is it?

the fsm is free for 02 TJ
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

it explains all there. (no chapter on alarm only the IMMO )
chapter 8Q
theft and security chapter.
I attempt to guess your question, how to disable just the door alarms. (not SKIM)

my 02 TJ has no such thing, door alarms at all , mine had rag windows
and and no electric door locks at all, just a key. (mech lock)
not only that, the 02 operators guide has not a word at all about any alarm. period (USA cars)

my 08 JK however has doors with glass windows and all trimmings.
the alarm on my 08 is disabled by these steps.

To Disarm the System
To disarm the system, you will need to press the UNLOCK
button on the RKE transmitter, or turn the ignition
key to the ON position. If something has triggered the
system in your absence, the horn will sound three times
when you unlock the doors. Check the vehicle for tampering.
The Security Alarm System is designed to protect your
vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the
system will arm unexpectedly. If you remain in the
vehicle and lock the doors with the RKE transmitter, once
the system is armed (after 16 seconds), when you pull the
door handle to exit, the alarm will sound. If this occurs,
press the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter to
disarm the system. You may also accidentally disarm the
system by unlocking the driver's door with the key and
then locking it. The door will be locked but the Security
Alarm will not arm.

next time post symptoms, so we can be on the same page..

Disarm alarm

Get in the car, shut the door, and insert key in ignition.

Turn the key to the RUN position (NOT start, but the position the key is in when the car is running. You DON'T want to start the car).
Turn key off.
Repeat this 10 times quickly (ON, OFF, ON, OFF, etc)

Many alarm systems this is at least one way to reset or over-ride the alarm.

My Toad alarm will not recognize both of my Fobs for the system. I don't want to open my car manually because i have no way of knowing if the alarm will turn off when its going off with my fob and can't...

I don't see where you have any choice but to unlock the doors with your key. If your fobs have good batteries, then the problem is with the alarm system, which can't be accessed until you unlock the doors. I'm not sure what the procedure is on your particular alarm, but with most alarms, you disarm the system by first turning the key in the door lock to the left and then to the right to unlock the door. Turning the key to the left first, disarms the system. Some aftermarket alarms will have a button hidden under the driver side dash that will disarm the alarm.

I work for a garage and we have a 1998 mystique that wont start we were wondering if there was some sort of anti-theft systeme that we dont know about and also we would like to have the were abouts of the...

Starting System
The function of the starting system is to crank the engine at a speed fast enough to allow the engine to start. Heavy cables, connectors and switches are used in the system because of the large currents required.
The starting system consists of a gear reduced starter motor, battery, remote control switch (ignition switch) and relay.
Vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle have a transmission range sensor attached to the circuit which prevents operation of the starter motor unless NEUTRAL or PARK are selected.
Vehicles equipped with a manual transaxle have a start inhibit switch in the starter control circuit, which prevents operation of the starter motor unless the clutch pedal is in the applied position.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The anti - theft protection system provides protection from unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment.
The system is controlled by an anti - theft alarm control. When armed, unauthorized entry into the vehicle is detected by lamp switches.
Once triggered, the system flashes the headlamps, the parking lamps, the alarm indicator, and sounds the horn. In addition, the starter circuit is disabled to prevent starting the vehicle until the system is disarmed.
System Arming
The system will be armed by the remote entry transmitter when the following input sequence is followed:
  1. Turn the ignition switch off and remove the key.
  1. Close all doors (unlocked).
  1. Press the LOCK button on a transmitter to lock doors. Alarm warning lamp will turn on.
  1. Wait for the anti - theft warning lamp to turn off.
The system will also be armed when the following input sequence is followed:
  1. Turn the ignition switch off and remove the key.
  1. Open a door. Alarm warning lamp will flash.
  1. Lock doors with power door switches. Alarm warning lamp will now glow steadily.
  1. Close all doors.
  1. Wait for the anti - theft warning lamp to turn off.
Opening any door will activate the alarm after the alarm is armed.
Disarming an Untriggered System
The system can be disarmed by performing one of the following procedures.
  • Driver or RH front door is unlocked with a key.
  • Driver door is unlocked by pressing the UNLOCK button of a remote entry transmitter.
  • If remaining in the vehicle, turn the ignition switch to ON or ACC position.
System Triggering
The armed alarm system will be triggered if any door is opened without using a key or a remote entry transmitter to unlock the door first.
Disarming a Triggered System
Carry out either of the following steps will disarm the triggered alarm system.
  • Driver or RH front door is unlocked with a key.
  • Driver door is unlocked by pressing the UNLOCK button of a remote entry transmitter.
Two minutes and 45 seconds after the system has been triggered, the horns and exterior lamps will shut off automatically. The system will then reset to an armed state and will trigger again if another intrusion occurs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)
The Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), known as SecuriLock, is fully passive in operation and requires no special procedures by the driver to arm or disarm the system. It is invisible to normal scrutiny and is operated by a transponder within the key body. This communicates with the module through a transceiver mounted around the ignition switch lock barrel.
The PATS functionality is incorporated within the powertrain control module.
PATS keys contain an electronic device inside, and are physically larger than a non-PATS key.
The transponder code reading is carried out when the key is inserted into the ignition lock barrel, and turned from position 0' to position II' or III' to crank the engine. If the PCM receives the correct code signal, the engine will start. Should the code received not be recognized, the engine will not crank as the PATS is still armed and the engine immobilized.
Anti-Theft Indicator
Whenever the ignition is switched on the anti-theft indicator will remain on for three seconds while the system carries out an initial ignition key-read.
The anti-theft indicator will flash rapidly for three seconds to indicate the PATS has immobilized the vehicle.
For additional information on the PATS fault codes, refer to the Diagnosis and Testing section.

How doyou disarm the factory alarm system in a 1994 jeep grand cherokee my alarm system keeps shutting down the whole car it is a real pain to get it started again i just want to totally shut the alarm...

The security alarm system on the 1994 Jeep Cherokee arms itself on any normal exit from the vehicle, i.e. ignition off, open door, lock door with power door locks, close door. If the doors are locked with the key, it does not arm.
If the battery is disconnected, then reconnected, the alarm system will go into powerup alarm mode. The lights will flash, but the horn will not blow.
The alarms can be disarmed by a keyless vehicle remote or by unlocking either of the front doors or the read lift gate with the key. If the key method does not work with any of those three entrances, there is a problem either with the input to the alarm module or the module itself.
There is a switch in both front doors and the tailgate which is activated by manualy unlocking those doors. The alarms can be disabled by permanently grounding the wire going from either of those switches to the alarm module, but this will remove all theft protection.
The best thing to do is to find out why the system is going off in the first place. It could just be a glitch, a loose connection that can be fixed fairly easily and keep your theft protection intact.

Replaced the alternator, now anti theft won't disable

The ignition lock anti-theft switch (19A438) detects if the ignition key cylinder is broken or "slam pulled" during a theft. The ignition lock anti-theft switch is always monitored by the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module. This allows the alarm system to be triggered in the case that the ignition lock anti-theft switch detects tampering of the ignition key cylinder (even in the event that the alarm is not active at the time).
Refer to the Section 501-14B for more details on the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601).
The door open warning lamp switch (14018) communicates to the RAP module through the generic electronic module (GEM). This input to the RAP will cause the anti-theft alarm to be sounded if the anti-theft alarm was armed.
The door disarm switches are assembled into both LH and RH lock sets. The door disarm switch must be triggered before the mechanical lock unlocks. This is to prevent the anti-theft alarm from activating when it should have been disarmed.
The RAP module controls the anti-theft system and is the brains of the keyless entry system. The RAP module communicates with the GEM to request that the interior lights be turned ON/OFF with use of the keyless entry remote transmitter, and the GEM communicates to the RAP to inform when the door is opened. Refer to Section 418-00 for inter-module communication.
The RAP module has three wire connectors attached to it:
  • The antenna for the keyless entry remote transmitter.
  • 26 circuit connector (C256).
  • 22 circuit connector (C257).
In addition to the perimeter alarm that uses the door open warning lamp switch, the RAP module also uses the ignition lock anti-theft switch and the autolock/relock feature to prevent theft of the vehicle. For a full description of the autolock/relock system, refer to Section 501-14B .
The THEFT LED is found on the instrument panel between the tachometer scale and the needle pivot point. The LED is illuminated during prearming and flashes when armed or triggered.
Prearming and Arming the System
The system can be armed if:
  • The ignition is OFF.
  • The PANIC alarm is OFF.
  • All doors are closed.
There are two ways to prearm the system:
  • Press the LOCK button on the transmitter.
  • Open a door, press the power door lock button and close the door.
After 30 seconds the system will be armed and the theft indicator in the cluster will flash every two seconds.
Disarming an Untriggered System
An armed system will be disarmed with one of these valid actions:
  1. Pressing the UNLOCK button on the transmitter.
  1. Placing a key in the door and turning to UNLOCK.
  1. Turning the key to RUN or ACC.
The anti-theft alarm can be triggered by the following conditions:
  • The ignition cylinder is damaged with or without the RAP being armed.
  • A door is opened without disarming the armed RAP module.
The remote transmitter can activate a panic alarm which is similar to an anti-theft alarm, but does not deactivate the starter or cause the theft indicator to flash.
Disarming a Triggered System
If the system has been triggered, (the horn honks, the lights flash, and an external starter interrupt relay is engaged), the system can be disarmed by:
  1. Pressing the UNLOCK or PANIC button on the transmitter.
  1. Putting a key in the door and unlocking the door.
  1. Turning the ignition to RUN/ACC (Turning the key to RUN/ACC will not disarm an alarm that has been triggered by the ignition lock anti-theft switch.).
